  1. Pretty much the title. So any good prebuilt PC's at a 'reasonable' price, that uses literally no proprietary parts. Does it even exist? not sure. Here's hoping anyone who sees this can help me with that. Im looking for it to have a 5600, and a 3070, aiming for 1440p gaming. If you know anything, pls comment!
  2. oohhhh, then ill probably get the ones w a dram buffer. the hdd has no complaints tho right?
  3. i think this mobo is good for now, since im only running it for 1080p, and its vain but i want the corsair because .... i Cue....
  4. the m.2 i have uses sram? didnt know that darn but isnt a nvme already fast asf?
  5. hummm, is 110-124 CAD reasonable enough? and yeah ig i dont need the usb c. it may look annoying af tho
  6. hmmm, is usb c that important? out of all my devices i only have usb c to charge my macbook... alsso should i opt for cl16 3600 or is cl18 also fine?
  7. ummmm i was at best buy and ngl the corsair keyboards were clicky asf... also, the k70 was the only keyboard there w/o a price tag, i thought it was around 150 and i was too lazy to check online....
  8. so yea im planning on no overclocking then the stealth is fine? also then what would be better? i thought b550 was already the lower option vs x570s?
  9. hmmm, is the boucne from 3200-3600 that worth it? im going wiht corsair rn as im pretty much bound to the iCue system besides, i want to know what pcpartpicker means with that usb C incompatible warning?? its scaring me to death!
  10. Budget (including currency): 2700-800 CAD Country: canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1080p gaming , non competitive, light schoolwork. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i know the 3070 is overkill for the 1080p monitor but as of right now this is the cheapest gpu i can actually get (a bundle at canada computers with the CPU i want) however i have a couple minor annoyances im looking for a case that's got good airflow, because im not sure about the corsair 4000d airflow. its perfect in every way except for the darn usb C port and i dont know how much of an impact it has please check this build and tell me anything a newb wouldnt know, and maybe some possible alternatives for case! https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/ketchupspill/saved/LpkpBm
  11. just after a restart, opened wallpaper engine the buttons quickly become very fuzzy and broken, they still work but look very weird. The top photo is the "more" normal one, the bottom one is the broken one.
  12. does the p500a seem like a plausible case? im looking at the pcpartpicker reviews and it seems to be generally pretty great
  13. soooo i need a model that is good for air cooling i suppose, and if the first reply there is the case, then as long as the actual hardware im getting is the same as the others then the brand won't matter that much i suppose and it'll be really good for usage!
  14. thanks for the suggestions, but first : i have no idea how to do water cooling (dead) second, ummmm, since it's my first time im not sure how trustable brands ive never heard of are (bitfenix??? silicon power what is that????)
  15. ohh then what might be a better case? anything from mid to full size tower works for me! also, since im defo planning a air cooled only (not about to crash something i built for the first time) can you explain how intake/outtake works and how people set that up?
  16. hmmok ok, so there wouldn't be much finagling required, which is great. what were you saying about changing the case to one for air cooling? is the lian li desigend for water cooling?
  17. don't really know how changing between amd/intel affects the pc at all since this is my first time, so i suppose this is a good idea too! thanks!!
  18. it all seems good to me (the untrained eye), but does the b550 need a .. bios.. update? i think? not sure how that works, does it require much technical know how?
  19. Budget (including currency): 2500 CAD Country: canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming (preferably 1440p 60 for rpgs, 144 for fps games), schoolwork (probably not that load-heavy) , basic video rendering and music editing Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): current part list https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/nKb94d looking for maybe a different mobo? parts i think all work fine, does the 5600x need a cooler? are there any brands on that list whose product may not have a great reputation? not much else i think, thanks for any help!
  20. Just been looking around on the new 30 series laptops and I’m finding something interesting there doesn’t seem to be anything with a 3080, 10 or 11 series intel or 5000 series Ryzen , 2x8 gb ram AND more than a 518 or 256 ssd. why is it so impossible to have all of them together, and why is storage mostly limited to just a 1 tbssd, no HDD added?
  21. Soz for the late reply Refurbished btw dell g7 (dunno how to check model) nvidia RTX 2060 mobile intel UHD 630 i7 8750H sk Hynix 128gb ssd seagate 1tb hdd 8 gb dell ram , 8 gb crucial ( added myself ) 2166hz mobo unknown dont know if this has anything to do with it, but for the last year or so it’s been frequently BSODing and then running a hardware diagnostic which results with no issues detected no bootable devices found! thats about it, thanks for any help.
  22. Using steam, running on a refurbished Dell G7 launching red dead 2, it said miniumum hardware incompatibility, and asked for me to update my intel graphics drivers to the newest version. did that, but the game doesnt recognize it. ive also used Nvidia Control pane to set everything to discrete gpu use by default, but rd2 still uses the intel gpu help??
