Yeah that checks out 5MB/s is actually quite good for onedrive really.

They have a set pool of resources that is shared between all users so it varies massively often. Its to keep it affordable.

Just leave the pc on for a while it'll get done eventually.

That's just OneDrive. It at times(which is most of the time) has dog water download speeds. Nothing you can really do. I have 1GB fiber at home and 10GB at work and in either case anytime I've tried either personally or for a client redownloading files from OneDrive has been a let it run overnight or for a couple days depending on the amount of information. 300GB is quite a bit, I'd let it go at least overnight. It will download in the background. Regardless of your internet speed, it's really all about the OneDrive servers themselves. If download speeds are a concern for your file storage, use Dropbox or a Nas. Or if it's only a seldom occurrence when you need to format and reinstall, use a physical external HDD or SSD. Either would be much faster, both making a backup and also transferring the files from the backup. Much better than doing it over a cloud based server.

Yup, that's just cloud storage for you. They aren't really trying to be a data backup and will often cap at pretty low download speeds.

It's highly likely limited by one drive servers.

    Syncthing is direct between computers
So speed might be better depending setup.

So yeah you're depended on their service.

Might as well leave computer running overnight till you have all the files.

This exactly, why spend the $500-$600 needed to build a decent loop when you could upgrade the CPU and MOBO and get a massively larger performance bump than you would from OCing an 8350

That's alright man, thanks for the info. I have applied to get static IP, but it will apply after the 25th of may. So for now, I can't do anything but play the waiting game.

I think this is a tad too complicated for my brain. This port forwarding is already confusing as it is haha

You should probably include your location then Otherwise saying within the same price range is useless.
