  1. Thanks for the input guys! Of course this wouldn't be a practical move. I've always wanted to do a custom water loop build. But always wanted to embark on that journey with top of the line components at that time. Given the current market, there is no way I am willing to over pay by double or triple the cost of a 3090 and a 5800x to pair with it. In theory to "future" proof the PC some. My current set up is working just fine for what I'm doing with it. A 1700x and the 2070 super. From what I put together for just a GPU loop right now would be a bit over $500, which isn't terrible. Thanks @HairlessMonkeyBoy for the recommendations on the components you had used. Going all EK would have been a solid +$200.
  2. Hey everyone, got a question was hoping the community can help me out with. I have a founders edition 2070super, I got prior to the gpu hell we are going through. It's looking more and more like I won't be upgrading to a 3070 or 3080 like I wanted with absolutely zero chance of getting one at or near msrp. So I'm thinking of going another route and getting a water block and cooling system for the 2070Super. Been doing some mild mining on it because well why not? So my question is: does that seem like a not to crazy idea with the current market? I'd get better Temps and less fan noise when gaming. More than likely wouldn't get rid of the card once or if the 30 series pops into my life? Let me know your thoughts? Or what you'd recommend if I did go this route. I like the EK products, seem very well designed. Thank for any help.
  3. I was wanting to get the pikes peak too! They are amazing bikes! Literally all in one bike!
  4. Thanks! They make the G7 in 27" I agree 32 is huge for a monitor, personally
  5. https://www.thefpsreview.com/2020/10/12/class-action-lawsuit-brewing-for-samsung-g7-monitors-g-sync-flickering/ Came across this, wonder if this will be a thing?
  6. I have had my eyes on thst monitor as well! The price to performance seems almost too good to be true.
  7. Oh I've seen the reviews. I appreciate you for adding the fourm topic! I was looking for something like that with real world user's!
  8. Yeah man that's the hard part though. I like to get a really good grasp on the product. All the pros and cons. See if hardware unboxed video, or any other monitor reviewers put their two cents on. See a true indepth analysis ya know? Would be kinda hard to pull the trigger on something even at a discount we are talking $600+ I'd be droppin. I wanna make sure if fits what I need. I guess maybe having a few picked out now that I've "approved " for my needs and see if those go on sale? Then I'll already know about them not just oh look a 1440p 27" $200 off, shot in the dark? Thanks again man really!
  9. I am indeed a US citizen. Black Friday seems to be hit or miss with merchant stock, but not a bad idea to wait and see what deals are kicking around at that time! Thanks!
  10. Alright y'all I'm wanting to make an upgrade from my current 1080p monitor which is the MSI G27C2 144hz 1ms response, really like the monitor thus far. Have had it about 2 years. it was purchased second hand, don't judge me. I upgraded my GPU to a 2070 super about half a year ago, which it slays anything in its path at 1080p. Unless we are talking minectaft, then it gets brought to its knees with rtx on. Ha. Well I was going to do some brand loyalty and pick up the 1440p variant of the MSI monitor I am rocking now, but after seeing good reviews on the G7 I am intrigued. Do any of you out there have one? Thoughts? Impressions? Recommendations? As always you all here at thr LTT forum rock!
  11. So I am currently running a msi 27" 1080p monitor and I recently upgraded my GPU to a 2070FE my buddy sold me. From a rx580, which did a good job at everything I did with it. I want to upgrade my monitor next to take advantage of the new GPU horsepower in the 2070, I figured 1440p monitor would be a nice improvement. I really like the wide curved screen of the current msi monitor I'm using, as well as the high refresh rate at 120hz. Trying to budget myself to $500+/- some for this upgrade, mainly play fps shooters but also stuff like resident evil which is detailed oriented. Want to keep it a VA panel or IPS but the later is a bit more expensive than my budget. I've done the whole pc parts picker search and currently seems like everything is $100 more than normal. I like the MSI Optix MAG321CQR 31.5" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor - currently $448, was $378 not long ago Or the LG 32GK650F-B 32.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor - current price $399, when it had sales for $299 not long ago. So idk if anyone has a good recommendation please pass it along. Thanks
  12. Sounds like a unanimous decision to hold up. If anything when zen 3 does come out maybe the 3000 series chips will have a discount as amd has done in the past when the new new is launched. Thanks
  13. The only thing with that is I would need a mobo upgrade as the x370 from what I have read won't have support for the 4000 series cpu's. My thought process was to get a good 30% boost in performance with a single point upgrade and ride that for a little while??
  14. So I have a Ryzen build you can check out on PC parts picker if you feel so inclined https://pcpartpicker.com/b/Hnq48d The breakdown 1700x - With a stable OC of 3.9 Fractal Design S24 Gigabyte GA-AX370 Gaming K7 16Gb G Skill DDR4-3600 970 evo NVME 500GB +2tb ssd I recently upgraded my rx580 for a 2070 super So I have been kicking the idea of getting a 3600 to swap out for the 1700x, given sizable performance boost to the 7nm Zen 2 architecture. Do you all think this would be a worth while move to do? I will be loosing out of 2 cores but from what I have read the 3600 stomps the 1700x in both single and multi threaded applications. Watching Gamers Nexus revisit of the 1700x, some gaming applications see 30%+ boost in performance.
  15. Isn't the new XT variant coming out soon from AMD? The 3700x will probably drop in price from now to then? Just throwing that out there.
  16. My first Ducati was a 749, fun ride for sure! Get out more than just a little trip down the road and back.
  17. You would be surprised at how nasty it gets behind the front sprocket cover. All that chain lub gotta go somewhere. That front sprocket of yours looked like a throwing star. I have seen them missing teeth and chains break and wack the side cover and some instances the case, which is not a cheap fix. Every bike owner should do regular maintenance to their chain and, cleaning and proper lubrication goes a long way, as well as getting to inspect those components often. I would recommend at minimum every 500 miles to clean and lub the chain, obviously the more frequently it is done the cleaner it stays and more life you get out of it. Cheers
  18. I love the hyper! Being a Ducati Technician I was lucky enough to get a lot of seat time on the entire line up! And by far the older hyper 1100, was my jam! Front end feeling was it's only down side in my opinion, I knew a lot of customers that wiped out from front and wash outs. The new 939 is a beast tho! Highly recommend anyone to go test ride that thing
  19. Nice! Super fun ride right there! I worked at a dealer but recently moved and switched up job careers, but prior to that we started carrying Triumph, I was impressed by those speed triples!
  20. Do the fans spin freely on the GPU? I've left a zip tie that I cut off in a case bc I couldn't find it and it found it's way in a fan causing it to stop spinning, which in turn made my pc actually brick, thank goodness for dual Bios! Just spit ballin here for ya man?? I would see if you have a buddy that has a different gpu to throw in there to rule that out. Or try your new one in another rig? You mentioned you gifted the old card to a family member?
  21. Yeah you will look like a bear on a tricycle on that thing. Well it all depends on how far your commute is as well. Pegging out a little 300cc bike for 30/40mins, the life of that bike will drastically decline. Pros and Cons to everything, cheaper bike overall, cheaper maintenance, cheaper tires/ oil changes than a bigger bike.
