  1. I read somewhere that b450 has compatibility issues with ryzen 5 processors, but am I right in thinking it should be okay with so long as its b450 max? Also although I plan to keep my graphics card for now, if I eventually want to upgrade it I was thinking either a rx 590 or maybe 1660, would that be a decent upgrade for a while?
  2. I'm thinking 16gb ram is definitely the first thing I need. I'm also thinking of upgrading my CPU to a Ryzen 3600, but I'm pretty sure I need a new motherboard for that, can anyone recommend a good choice?. I just want good performance at 1080p and I think my CPU is limiting me atm.
  3. Well I can spend a few hundred on it, but I don't want to spend thousands. I'm just not sure what would be best to replace first in terms of performance increase.
  4. Hi, I bought my PC back in 2016, since then I have not upgraded or changed a single piece. It has served me well to this point and only now has it started to feel a bit aged with current games coming out. I am notably having more and more trouble to run games smoothly on any kind of decent settings. I primarily use it for gaming and other general use. This is my current spec (I know it's pretty old): Case InWIN GT1 BLACK GAMING CASE Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™i5 Quad Core Processor i5-6500 (3.2GHz) 6MB Cache Motherboard ASUS® H110M-R: Micro-ATX, DDR4, LG1151, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs Memory (RAM) 8GB HyperX FURY DDR4 2133MHz (2 x 4GB) Graphics Card 8GB AMD RADEON™ RX 480 - HDMI, 3 x DP - DX® 12 1st Storage Drive 120GB Samsung 750 2.5" SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (upto 540MB/sR | 520MB/sW) 2nd Storage Drive 1TB WD BLACK 3.5" WD1003FZEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm) DVD/BLU-RAY Drive 24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM Power Supply CORSAIR 450W VS SERIES™ VS-450 POWER SUPPLY Power Cable 1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead) Processor Cooling Super Quiet Titan DragonFly Heatpipe Intel CPU Cooler Thermal Paste STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING Sound Card ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD) Wireless/Wired Networking 10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT (Wi-Fi NOT INCLUDED) USB/Thunderbolt Options MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS Operating System NO OPERATING SYSTEM REQUIRED Operating System Language United Kingdom - English Language Windows Recovery Media NO DVD RECOVERY MEDIA REQUIRED Office Software NO OFFICE SOFTWARE Anti-Virus NO ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE Browser Microsoft® Edge (Windows 10 Only) Keyboard & Mouse CM Storm Devastator II Keyboard and Mouse Warranty 3 Year Silver Warranty (1 Year Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) Delivery STANDARD INSURED DELIVERY TO UK MAINLAND (MON-FRI) Build Time Standard Build - Approximately 11 to 13 working days Change to: FAST TRACK 5 WORKING DAY DISPATCH I want to upgrade some parts but I am not up to date with what is good and what isn't now. I don't know if it might be better for me to just get a whole new PC, or if a few upgrades could make a big difference. I'm thinking another 8gb RAM could be a big boost, and probably and new processor (and ideally GPU at some point). Can anyone recommend where would be best to start upgrading? I don't want to spend too much at once but I could throw a few hundred pounds at it if necessary. Thanks in advance.
