  1. So, I bought a new house in Vancouver, it has ethernet wired to all the rooms and is wired for Telus fiber. It terminates into the garage with the Nokia ONT model: G-240G-A. I found someone selling some Ubiquiti stuff for a very reasonable price. 2 wifi 6 APs, 2 cameras, 8-port POE switch, 2nd gen cloud key, and Unifi security gateway I have a few questions, (complete networking noob here) 1. Can I plug directly into ONT from the Unifi security gateway router, or do I need to go through the ISP(telus) provided modem/router thing? 2. all ethernet runs in the house are using CAT5e cable, is this bad? 3. Can I daisy chain from the 8-port switch to a non-manged switch to the room, where I have 2 computers, PS5, and a TV? Will it affect internet speed, if I am using multiple of these at the same time. Here is the layout: Does this make sense ? or am I missing something?
  2. I built this PC from mostly used parts from the marketplace but didn't keep any budget for a new gaming monitor. so I have to buy that used R5 5600, RTX 3070, 16GB RAM, 750 Watt PSU Monitor pricing on the used market is very different from PC parts because there are so many different options and very inconsistent asking prices. I want a 1440p monitor. and I found a few for 150-200 CAD Which ones of these should I choose from, also should I filter out monitors that don't have G sync? 7. 2X8 for ram Corsair 600 Watt (don't know exact model, but it is mustard cable/not modular kind) MSI 240r AIO https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/msi-mag-coreliquid-240r-all-in-one-liquid-cpu-cooling-system-black/15937124?cmp=knc-s-71700000055264076&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw17qvBhBrEiwA1rU9w5ELUiyDHlgwknToCAMFJTQp5PskVGwNhcC8GEwwMl6_xTh70BUeHBoCKhEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds and Crystal Series™ 570X RGB ATX Mid-Tower Case + few Random non rgb fans Also Ryzen 7 3700X/3800X are under 150 CAD used, but higher TDP, I might need to upgrade my PSU too. any thoughts? @podkall @jaslion
  8. I was looking to build an AM4 system with 5600/5600X used, prices in my area have gone up ever since LTT released 500 PC video a few weeks back. It was 250-280 for mobo and CPU but since that video came out there isn't even a single listing in Vancouver. it's all overpriced or it gone. The next lower option is to get ryzen 5 3600 for now and upgrade to 5000 series in a few months. 3600 + mobo (B450) is still under 220 CAD I already have storage, 600W PSU and 16Gb DDR4 ram (pretty slow 2400mhz I think), and a case. and also AIO

  10. So far, Plan is to : Sell 4770 K system in full sell 6500 and GPU from 6500 system. (leaving MOBO,ram,PSU and case + storage) buy a used 6700K and that will probably give me around 300 CAD for a used GPU. Maybe a 3070 or 2080?
  11. Yes, open to selling both too.
  12. i open to sell either, just not sure which one should I ?
  13. Hello people I have two computers, 1st system is fairly reliable and I have been using it for a few years, 2nd system was handed down to me by a family member. I want to sell one of these systems or mix & match parts and both GPUs to buy a newer used GPU. What should I build on 4th gen or 6th gen? Which one would be better for gaming and some data analysis workload like Power BI, MSSMS The goal is to end up with one system from existing parts and a new used GPU something better than RX580. without putting any money in. Also what used options do I have for budget GPUs after selling one of the two systems Budget (including currency): Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming, Power Bi, MSSMS Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):
  14. I've tried almost everything software wise. New windows, new storage device, etc. That only leaves with CPU Ram.
  15. My system is having some hardware issues cause crashes. I was wondering if I should buy I5 6500 system for about $450-500 CAD.
