  1. Hello there, I have the same probelm Ryzen 5 2400G, GTX 970. Recently noted in Wolfenstein 2 The new Colossus with broken hair models and broken shadows. The Shadows are shimmering, even if no object is moving and they have a strange checked pattern. Also there are pixellated. My latest theory is, maybe the Ryzen integrated Vega Graphic Card is somehow messing arround with the nvidia graphic... Vulkan Engine and latest Unreal Engine are not looking good at all. The only currently AAA used engine that looks more or less normal is the From Software Engine. Vulkan is ugly but playable, Unreal ist almost unplayable.
  2. Call of duty cold war has the same pixellated shadows like mad max but gladly there aren't so many shimmering problems due to the unuse of horrible TAA. Has anyone an idea how to simply blur the shadow edges?
  3. English translation: "Hi, I am a player from China. Not long ago, I also had this problem. Not only me, but many of my friends have established a group to solve this problem. This problem is too difficult!"
  4. DISCLAIMER: This is NO core fix, but it will make your gamer life a bit more enjoyable. I have this problem since a few years, and my routine "solution" is to fight every symptom of this illness one by one, because finding the source is impossible. That means: Shimmering? Try arround the light effects, use other AA methods either via game settings or Nvdia controll panel. Bad/No AA? Use NVDIA Control Panel AA Edgy/Pixellated Shadows? Look for special shadow options / fixes for the particular game, sometimes there sadly is none. Then try to ignore it or refund the game. (don't get too angry, it wont help either) Bad colours? Use reshade and try arround with the settings. I play currently Sekiro with control panel AA and its working fine. And a last hint: Use a screen with a good Resolution - Screen Size relation. It hides the issues a bit.
  5. For everyone: Always try reshade. It is a kind of post rendering software or something. You can add things like SMAA, sharpening or more coulors with it. It is NOT fixing the problem, but it is the most efficient way to fight the symptoms imo. I made Warhammer Vermentide 2 playable with it. Download link: https://reshade.me/
  6. For everyone with issues in "The outer worlds", I think this mod pretty much fix it: At least you have now not this shimmering hairs in every dialogue! (0:26 in the Video).
  7. Warhammer Vermentide 2 is complete ugly... It offers TAA and FXAA (or no) and all of it looks horrible. Pretty much the same look than The Outer Worlds. I wonder why TAA is looking good in your games. In these two for me, it definitely doesn't. Espescially fire effects or hair are just looking ...broken. Sekiro is looking great btw. (All from software games)
  8. Oh, and BREAKING NEWS: "Dying Light" has no Issues at all on my system, perfect Shadows, perfect AA - any other with this game who can confirm this?
  9. And he/she had bad luck. Which is funny because, he/she just demonstrates ssao but with ssao on or off - the shadows are meanwhile broken and nobody recognizes it. I believe there are many people arround who have those broken directx profiles, and believing the game makers are too dump too smooth shadows. Which is very unlikely because there are beginner tutorials how too smooth shadows in you own game. AND THERE ARE OTHER ONES WHERE IT JUST WORKS PERFECTLY!!!!
  10. Okay, but I seen gameplay from Mad Max with smooth shadow edges. So its not on every system like this. The game looks ugly this way. In rooms when shadows are every where pixelling arround you get crazy!
  11. Yeah, that TAA is used most in modern games is pretty sad for me, because its just doesnt work on my system. In outer world, like i said those shimmering in trees, hairs all around, eyecancer. And everything looks so, hard to describe, like you look threw milkglas or something, way to dark also. Well, but whenn you deactivate TAA the edgy edges are killing you.
