I have a possible compatibility problem between a motherboard (Crosshair VIII) and power supply (Seasonic FOCUS GX-750), which I will link below. I'm looking for opinions to advise me from here.
Motherboard:

My problem started here:
I just finished building a new pc, and was preparing to start it up for the first time. And I did. The motherboard has a convenient display for post code and, after flipping through a series of numbers, stopped on 02 and stayed there. My monitor displayed nothing. I looked up the code and found it was, "AP initialization before microcode loading." Somebody online said this often has to do with some issue with the power pins (That's what Newegg called them, I'm not familiar).
So, I checked the power pins on the 8-pin connector and noticed that the shapes don't match up.
S = Square slot
O = Other-shaped slot
The slots on the motherboard are:
O/S/S/O
S/O/O/S
The corresponding slots on the cable are:
O/O/S/O
O/O/O/S
Hopefully somebody understands the problem and can point me toward an immediate course of action. I have two theories though, with my limited understanding:
EATX pins:
The motherboard manual lists the pins on the motherboard as EATX pins. My PSU is listed as an ATX PSU, and didn't come with any cables that fit these shapes. I was thinking I might need an EATX-specific power supply or cables to hook this up, but the lack of search results makes me unsure if this is even a thing.
Intel PSU:
I didn't think PSUs were team blue or team red specific, but Newegg does list this as an "Intel ATX 12 V" PSU, and I built an AMD machine.
I don't have enough experience to confidently navigate this problem, so if anybody could lend their expertise to help me cross the finish line and get this pc running, I would be very grateful.
