  1. Hi,

I'm in the market looking for a driving wheel with a clutch pedal and shifter, I have no idea how much they cost but I was looking for something around the 250-300€ mark.

Would that be possible? If so, could you give me some examples?

    Thank you.

go into the bios and reset all settings. if there is a clear cmos button, then use that

I did that and it’s basically the same.

I did find out that the ROG logo is what stays on for practically 95% of the time, after that, the windows logo appears for around 5 seconds and after that the laptop boots.

    Should I update my BIOS?

unplug the hdd from the system and see if anything changes. your OS should be on the ssd so this is just to test

Hi, sorry for the late reply

I erased all data from my old HDD (therefore there is no Windows installed there) and I tried to manually boot from my SSD multiple times, the result is the same.

Either way, when I get home I’ll try to do that.

UPDATE: Nothing changed. This time, the boot was clocked at 117.9 seconds.

  4. Hi,

I have a Asus ROG G551JW, I bought it 4 years ago and it always had a pretty fast boot time (it came with an mSata SSD). One day, a friend of mine spilled soda on top of it and the motherboard died, so we went to the local store and replaced it. The sad part was that the SSD died, so I only had the HDD to use.

(I'm really not sure about the timespan in the next part, sorry haha) Some months later, I started getting REALLY LONG boot times, no, really. 120 seconds to boot! At that time, I didn't use my laptop outside of my house, so I really didn't care about it.

Now I'm back to school and I always take my laptop with me, so, having 2 whole minutes for my computer to boot in 45 minute classes is a real bummer.

I thought that the HDD might have got damaged with the soda or something, so 2 days ago I added a 120GB Kingston A400 SSD to my laptop using the caddy method. I installed windows on the SSD, formatted the HDD andddd.. Nope, still at 120 seconds.

    Wait! It gets weirder.

    It's not 118 seconds, 128 or 115. It's. Exactly. 120. Seconds. image.png.07f74829be7deab4923d656ac79f40e0.png

Sometimes 119.9, other times 120.1. But it's never lower or bigger than that.

If someone knows what this might be, please help me. I'm out of ideas, thank you.

NOTE: This only happens from a cold boot. If I restart the computer it has a "genuine" boot time. (around 10 seconds if I'm not mistaken).

  6. Budget (including currency): 250€

Country: Portugal, I can pick Amazon tho

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FOREX

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I wanted a trading computer that could support 3 monitors.

i made mine in to a keychain. its those old LPDDR3 with small hole. Dont worry its broken anyways.

though you can sell the parts of your laptop for easy money if you need it.

I am making a new rig for gaming, some extra money would help me a ton (750€)

What could I possibly sell from this old laptop?

I'm gonna be using ethernet, oh and I can use those 110$ that went to os on something else. I've bought 2xCopies of windows a while back when I decided to upgrade, one I'm using on this pc right now, and one is collecting dust somewhere in my room, so, could I add those 100$ to a video card or? Btw those specs are at least 100% better than ones I'm using right now, I have AMD RADEON R7 250 and I don't think they make those cards anymore xd

You can use those 100$ to buy whatever is more important to you (storage, memory, etc), the 5700XT is an absolute beast right now for the price. If you want to upgrade it, try to see the price for the 2070 super

Complete newb. That's why I came here

oh ok sorry for the late reply

what do you think about this one?

This motherboard doesn't have wi-fi, do you need it or are you only going to use ethernet?

So Hello there, I'm trying to build a pc but have no idea what is compatable with what, baisicly I'm total newb when It comes to this. I've had my current pc for 2 years and It was outdated back then so now It's pretty far behind anything reasonable, so I'm asking you guys to help me out here. My buget is 1200e i'm from serbia(3rd world yey) and yea, I was planing to use that rig for streaming >_>

    heyy :)

is it 1200 euros or 1200 serbian dinars (I'm not sure if it's correct but it says its equivalent to 10 euros)?

It appears the main difference is the number of fans, yes.  The need for 2 or 3 fans isn't necessarily dependent on how intense of games you play, but how cool you want you GPU to run and how quiet.  Typically a triple fan card will be a little quieter because, in theory, the fans won't have to ramp us as much in order to keep it cool.  So you can apply a less aggressive fan curve for a quieter experience.

The GPU's themselves are for the most part, the same.  There's no way to definitively say one way or the other what one will be better, because that's just luck of the draw really.

New vs Refurb?  Well, you'll have to assess the level of risk involved.  New cards come with warranties.  Used cards, you need to dig into the seller a bit and see how reputable of source it is, and how much they are willing to work with you if it arrives to you not working. But, if you feel comfortable with the seller, and find a good deal, then the used market can be a great place to find good deals.

I'm going to buy from a popular online store here in Portugal, it comes with 2 years of warranty so I tought it was a great deal

The difference between an over clocked version and a normal one  is usually the OC one is binned and has a better power phase and that's about it

And for refurbished GPU I'm not really familiar with refurbished GPU market because it doesn't really come up often for me but if you are on a really tight budget just get the normal one and the oced one

I don't think you got it xd

Those GPUs I'm talking about are not the same, both are overclockable

Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super Gaming OC

    8530_2.jpg.1f34121d9088f9ad48a4e49013740cfc.jpg

    Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super OC

    482933931_placa-de-video-gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1660-super-oc-6gb-gddr6-192-bit-gv-n166soc-6gd-1578951129500_560x666fill_ffffff.jpg.19caa686d687937f95875c14d591616b.jpg

As you can see, they are different, but the only apparent difference is that one has two fans instead of 3, I wanted to know if there are more differences than that haha

  13. I'm going to buy a 1660 Super, I saw that the price difference between the Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super Gaming OC and the Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super OC is "big" since I found the Gaming OC for 269€ and the OC for 250€ (227€ refurbished)

    I have two questions:

I saw that the regular OC has 2 fans instead of 3. Is that the only difference between those two? I'm not going to play graphic-consuming games, so I don't think overheating will be a problem (I'm probably only going to play Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, League of Legends, GTA V but not anything really demanding)

Is buying a refurbished GPU worth it? Because that 23€ difference between the normal one and the refurbished one will help a lot since I'm building a computer right now.

Blower style is only the reference design, for the most part all the new RX cards can be found in dual or triple fan config which aids performance greatly. The Gigabyte Windforce cards are usually the best due to the low price and cooler design but the MSI gaming X is up there with the best cooler designs.

And yes the RX 5700XT is a great card, in my opinion the value of Nvidias entire lineup of cards is irrelevant, other than the 2080Ti due to its unmatched performance, but at $1,500+ CAD no thank you. The only 2 GPU's I'd consider buying new with today's pricing is the RX 5600XT and the 5700XT.

My RX580 has been okay for thermals, but I use that system for rendering and not gaming so workloads are not sustained for long periods of time. It really depends on use case and the airflow of the chassis it is in. And of course cooler design.

Thanks for all the information, the 5700 xt 40€ more expensive in my country, but that's fine, I think that I'm going to save a little more and buy that one then, thank you! :)

I mean its the only thing i can think of cause 10 is 4GB ram minimum to even run on its own,but i will see when i get more ram and if it still lags then ill instal 7 and if it still lags i dont have any ides.CPU is always problem when everythin lags but its new and it struggles with watcinh a movie?

    Doesn't make sense.

Thank you so so much again for take the time to write.

Yeah, it's really weird. That CPU is a beast for the price and should be running games and movies and whatever you want to smoothly.

If the problem persists, you should go where you bought your pc or the components to talk about it.

Anyways, good luck once again and feel free to ask me anything at any day of the week and I'll be happy to help! 😃

I thought that too,but compiter is brand new, formated disk and installed windows like 3 weeks ago.But it was lagging on the first day.

Maybe reinstall windows but do 7 instead of 10 this time and see if it gets any better?

I mean, you don't have anything to lose so why not haha

Yeah, you can try to install 7, if it gets better upgrade to 10 again and see if it fixes the problem. If it still lags on 10, keep windows 7 (even though it's really outdated and doesn't receive anymore support)

The whole computer starts "lagging",its responsive but lagging sooo much, even the mouse lags. But funny thing is my fps stays the same like 80fps (i have fps counter turned on)but everything is working in like 10 basically.

oh that's not the memory then, even if you had no memory, the whole computer wouldn't just lag.

Have you made sure it's not a virus? Try to run an antivirus check with malwarebytes or something like that

In a extreme case, you can try to format your computer, if it's still laggy, It's probably the CPU
