  1. I have just found the tool to create my own PC parts list, here is the link to make it easier! https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Grengun/saved/#view=pg9nLk
  2. This is a very long form sanity check, so there will be a TLDR at the bottom for anyone that does not like to read So this is my first ever PC build, and it is proving a daunting task. My previous experience was an old HP laptop that I used for highschool and PC gaming back in 2010, and that is the extent that I have with any kind of "PC gaming" (if you want to call it that, it was an office laptop that had trouble with opening word). After securing funds and watching a lot of LTT for a few days, I am beginning the journey of making my own. I would rather assemble it myself so I can learn some new things and take some pride in something I will be spending a lot of time on. 1) Budget & Location Budget is ~1200$ (I can flex it around if I have to, but this is what I'm comfortable with), and my Location is Midwest US (though I will be ordering everything online due to the countries current state). 2) Aim This is primarily going to be for gaming. But it still needs to function as a work/school computer (Work is freelance CAD work currently, but my Surface pro can only do so much). Games are anything from good ol' Minecraft, Elite Dangerous (though I have it on PS4), Star Citizen if it ever comes out, and everything in-between. CAD work is done on Mastercam 2020. 3) Monitors One is plenty, and as much as I would like a fancy curved display to see parts in Mastercam, and fancy spaceships, I don't need one. I just need a nice resolution and the ability to utilize the entire graphical output. I ultra-wide worth it? 4) Peripherals I have never owned a mechanical keyboard, but have messed with a friend's keyboard many years ago. I can still feel how the keys "clicked" on my fingers, so I consider it a must have. But I don't need an RGB light show every time I press W to creep forward to dock in KSP. And a Numpad would be nice for spreadsheets. 5) Why Upgrade? I have only ever owned consoles to play video games, but I have always dreamed of owning/building a PC. I consider it a very special ability and enjoy the community (at least what I've experienced so far). I began researching different builds, but realized I would just be buying a pre build PC, some assembly required. Not that there isn't anything wrong with that, I just have a lot of time on my hands, and want to give it a shot. I did come across a build that resonated with me, and decided to use that as a jumping off point, https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/G4V323/modest-amd-gaming-build . With this I began to look at different pieces and see what I could do from there. and this is what I came up with.
