  1. @Fasauceome it's pretty tight, I went until the screw resisted and a then bit more, after that I gave it a little nudge and it didn't move at all. @ShrimpBrime I don't think so. It was pre-built with one fan at the front and this was the first time I opened it. But then again, the old CPU didn't get this hot. By heat sink fan you mean the CPU cooler? It doesn't make any sound, but HWMonitor said it was spinning at ~2200 rpm. I think so, it doesn't move at all. And the fan doesn't have a lever, it came with spring-screws. The CPU lever was lowered. ------------------------------ Don't know if it's relevant, but ambient temperature here is 23°C. I changed the CPU to another place with way better airflow. It's averaging 40-45° while idling, with some 50° spikes. Also, EDC is also having some 99% spikes, don't know if it's related.
  2. Hello everyone, Yesterday I upgraded my CPU (Ryzen 1600) and motherboard (Gigabyte B450 Aorus M) but when measuring the temperatures I got around 55-60° (Celsius) idle and reached 90° when gaming (The Division 2). After some googling I found out I screwed up by applying thermal paste on top of the amount pre-applied on the stock cooler. Today I opened it up, cleaned and repasted. At first it seemed like it worked, but after around an hour Fortnite temperatures reached 95° and now it's idling at 50-60° (60 with one tab on Chrome and 50ish with nothing running). All temperatures were measured with Ryzen Master and while I don't have the best airflow and case cooling, is it supposed to get this hot? My older CPU (i3 6100) never went that high. Thanks!
