  1. On my initial Windows install, BIOS was set to boot from AMD RAID controller with a preconfigured array using only the M.2 slot. Things were working well, but after installing Windows I wanted to configure my 3x spinning rust drives into a RAID 0 available on my Windows installation Played with the BIOS settings, deleted the preexisting array, somehow changed which controller gets used on the boot menu. Now only the NVMe controller seems to be selected for boot, but my Windows installed on the AMD RAID using M.2 i unfortunately did not record what array settings were used, unable to get the same settings back. Cannot select AMD RAID controller for boot (only shows UEFI HDD, when it used to show AMD RAID) Now I’m unable to boot, cannot find what settings to use for the AMD RAID xpert to be available on the boot options Tried to clear CMOS, but it did not clear out the settings found on the AMD RAID xpert menu, they’re still set on how I incorrectly configured Help plz!
  2. It's a new year's miracle! Posting from my new rig. :) Either a miracle or I'm an idiot (most likely the latter), BIOS update successful and am now up and running! Thanks for the link to BIOS update video
  3. Sigh, tried one other different USB and no change unfortunately... Should I just begin the RMA procedure?
  4. Tried again with the latest BIOS recently released for the Tomahawk, the red LED by the USB port flashes for a couple seconds along with the USB but then ends up solid red without reading the USB... Am I SoL? The BIOS isn't updating.
  5. Unfortunately I am trying to migrate from Intel to AMD, that is my first AMD board and CPU since early 2000's (Athlon XP days) so I don't have a Ryzen 3000 CPU available. Do I need to have the CPU removed from the board to run the Q-Flash (M-Flash?). The MSI instructions aren't very descriptive
  6. Recently got a new B550 Tomahawk and Ryzen 5600X but am unable to get it to post. The box shows 3rd Gen Ryzen Desktop Ready but the debug lights keep getting stuck at VGA. I've tried two different cards with no luck. I've tried the BIOS flash button (while CPU installed) to update to latest BIOS, it doesn't seem to be doing anything; perhaps already has latest BIOS. I'm not getting any beep sounds at all, only the debug lights; sometimes it will show CPU & VGA, sometimes it doesn't show any debug lights but no output on display. I'm hoping I don't have to RMA the board as when I did the first boot, my loop wasn't flowing which got me worried and I ended up switching off the power supply. Did I mess up the BIOS? Is there anything I can do?
  7. Now I'm wondering is it safe to add some dye to this specific coolant without raising the freezing point too much? No biggie if not, just curious
  8. Ordered myself some Koolance 705 coolant: https://koolance.com/liq-705-liquid-coolant-bottle-low-conductivity-700ml-clear Has a freezing point of -35 and is pre-mixed to prevent corrosion. Now I'm anxious to put it in
  9. D'oh! I could have just checked the bottle. I'm an idiot, I got very close to the listed freezing point of -3°C... phew What kind of pre-mix can I purchase that can get lower?
  10. I've got an expanded AIO using EK Cryofuel and the cold air intake is going through the case as well as the rad so condensation shouldn't be an issue.
  11. With the colder temperatures arriving, and my location way up north I have access to some very cold dry air that I could put in front of my 360 rad (with push/pull fans). I also have a temperature sensor on one of the plugs on the loop to measure water temperature. While testing to see how cold I could get the loop it got all the way down to -2°C! I got a little concerned of the coolant getting thicker and losing flow so I stopped the cold air intake. What is the coldest safe temperature of a water loop?
  12. I currently do not have a video card, want to get a decent card for folding, not much of a gamer anymore so it would be used primarily for folding, Have a PCIe 16x slot available and a midrange budget, no particular preference for AMD or nVidia; just want decent folding performance. Thanks in advance!
