  1. Sounds to me like a dead CPU, as most of the older ICs I work with get really hot really fast after death.
  2. Maybe reinstall ALL drivers, not just the gpu ones.
  3. I'm gonna step back here and maybe let some more experienced people help you, as all I can come up with is replacing the cr2032 battery on the motherboard.
  4. Does the bios reset to not UEFI each time? DO you have to go back every time and put it back on UEFI?
  5. Something cheap like this should work to test if that's the issue.
  6. If it is bad power rails and the psu is overvolting, that could mean dead components. I have an old hp pavilion that just out of nowhere started exibiting the issues you suggest, and I never swapped the cpu to test if that was the issue. Full blast fans and no video BUT usb power output (i.e. rgb mouse lighting up) usually means dead cpu.
  7. Sounds to me, from my experience, like a dead cpu. Try a new on and see what happens.
  8. The desktop, the one you said the mouse and keyboard didn't work on.
  9. Ah. It may be a motherboard issue then. Do you have any replacements?
  10. If you don't have another computer, how did you install Ubuntu?
  11. I am too, I'm sorry. I would keep playing around with it or see if a more experienced member can help.
  12. Hmm, then that does sort of sound like a motherboard issue, but from what I am not sure.
