Can't you see my specs on my profile? (i9 9900K, 1080TI, 1TB nVME etc)

Yes, and i also paid 250$ for Razer hyperflux computer mouse. It's a free world.

    This is the correct price.
The way i view it, it comes wtih 10 year warranty. So worst case scenerio I'll have to buy a new one in 10 years, i.e. yearly cost of 35£, not to bad imo.
The reason i bouhgt it, is because I was getting sick tired of my CX750M coil whine and noise. So wanted the best quality i could get. Given that Seasonic (Asus supplier) is amazing in terms of quality i bought the 1200w thor. Now you might ask why i didnt buy the 860W for 100$ less. Becuase if i ever do multiple GPU in the future, i want to keep my options open, and if I'm going to spend 250$ i might as well go all the way and not think about it.

Having said all of this, HOW can i control the LEDS?

I tested it with Prime95 and custom 12k sizes (as der8auer told me xD)
I use the voltage and the coreclock in the bios to OC but I have the feeling that my chip is kinda golden

Hardly if any at all, with a 1080 Ti you'll always be limit by temperatures in overclocking due to GPU Boost 3.0, power feeding will never be a true issue if your PSU is of quality.

    So,
Imagine this, you have a $45CPU that runs 54W at max performance, with no OC possibilites.
Why not use a $30 delidding tool, with $20 liquid thermal paste, then top it off with a corsair H100i?

Well, here we go. I did that with my Intel Core Celeron G4900.

3.1Ghz dual core, we are talking about some serious horsepower here. Clearly delidding is not just warranted, but needed

    ^^Thermal paste used

Now. What kind of massive ROI (return of investment) are we talking about?

Well, to start with, with the normal included aluminium only cooler. We got hot temperatures.

Running prime95 for 30 minutes made the CPU reach 46°C (as max temperatures)

    Now whats the after temps?
After running Prime95 for 90minutes continously we got 36°C as max temp. WHAT A RETURN!!

Now, given the nearly double digit improvement, I can only recommend this to my fellow Intel Celeron G4900 dual core users!

Okay hahahaha this makes more sense, not gonna lie I'd attempt that as well just as practice. I totally agree hahaha I have a small ITX build running a Pentium G4600T and at one point it was sitting in a system that CPU discluded was worth over $2k just for shits n' giggles. ?

Hehe, it is not a troll post, I actually delidded it. The true story here is that i sold my i7-8700K, then i got notified that my i9-9900K pre-order was delayed by 2 months, no way im being without a desktop for 2 months, so i bought the cheapest CPU you can have on a Z370 board as a temporary solution. I already had the delidding tool (delidded many CPU's before) and for fun i used my liquid metal thermal paste (don't need to use much of it so still got something left).

But everything here is legit research! I did it for fun, because when your stuck on a G4900 CPU this is the most fun you'll have ?

SO, this is my take on it if you should upgrade.
A,  can you sell your i7-8700K for a good price? This is necessary if you don't want the upgrade to cost a lot!
B, do you game or productivity? Gaming i will assume is better at the 97, as it has 2 more real cores, however it has 4 less threads, so productivity will go down.
If you are considering upgrading from the 8700K, i would go to the 9900K as it really is the only one where you gain performance in both aspects, thts why i chose the 9900K, as 8700->9700 would be an upgrade and a downgrade, simply not worth putting money into if you ask me

In both the Gamers Nexus and Der8auer videos they use standard delidding tools. Der8auer notes that it is a bit tougher, and you may need to work it on one side, then work it from the other side, and go back and forth a bit to fully release the IHS.

Check out Der8auers video in which he shows the delidding process (Queued up to the right time for you)
