I have a mid/high-level workstation built in 2015. I am looking for a GPU upgrade. The machine was built primarily for running CFD (Computation Fluid
Dynamics), not gaming. As a result, the R7-250 was a cheap option that fit the bill. I now want to play with flight simulators like (Flight Gear and X-Plane) and the
is current GPU is not adequate. For X-Plane documentation the recommended is GPU is at least a GTX-1070 but isn't this the last generation. At some point in
the next couple of years I may update the machine (motherboard, CPU and memory) but don't want to by a new GPU as well. For the current machine, RGB is
a waste with a solid black tower case - function over pretty lights.
There is just so much information on Newegg, Amazon etc - it's hard to separate the junk and hype from the truly useful information.
I am thinking of a "2060 super" as I am not sure that going really high-end would be worth the already high prices. But even narrowing down to
this, it's hard to determine a good brand or specific model. Just too much confusing information. Any recommendations will be entertained.
