SOLVED: had to perform system restore to a previous date before some updates.
Hi,
I tried to turn on my PC this morning and had three BSODs back-to-back. The first error message was SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED, the second was KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED, but I can't remember what the last message was (If there is a way to see past BSOD messages, that would be great). After the BSODs, my PC restarted and I saw the Windows Starting screen, then the spinning circle, then just a black screen.
I shut my computer off and eventually was prompted with the Windows Advanced Options menu with the option to reset the computer. My PC just sits at that black screen forever, I waited about an hour earlier and nothing happened.
I've tried some basic steps:
- Turning PC off then on
- Removed GPU and booted using iGPU
- Clearing CMOS
- Removing all but one stick of RAM
- Unplugging every drive except the boot drive
- Changed the sata cable and port for the boot drive
- Resetting Windows, didn't work Windows spit out an error
- Removing the latest update of Windows 10 from the advanced options menu
- Booting to Linux on USB and mounting the boot drive
