  1. despite the duties? ok! how much better are they vs HD518 or 599 can the average music lover tell
  2. I'm an international student so I don't have a US visa and I can't cross it. plus no car or anything. i am ok with waiting more. and damn 450 less?! was it new?!! do you think a more expensive headphone like 58x is even worth it for me? I could just order the hd 559 right now from amazon.ca and save some money, but if it's really that much different and worth it i rather get the 58x while there's a big sale still the K371 is sadly closed! so is the other one! but I could always go there to the store even tho it's time consuming and a big walk! I heard that the HD 560s will be similar to my hd 518 with barely any difference. is that true?
  3. oh are you from Canada too? i thought ebay is just used stuff! Sorry I'm very new here do you know about duties etc from ebay? which one do I get from ebay? EDIT: They didn't have anything for cheaper. the shp9500 was cheaper the rest were either unavailable or more expensive
  4. I understand that this may be Irrational or weird but I am very paranoid about hygiene and have OCD and since my own headphones got ear gunk and some marks on the inner drives from my ears touching them I rather spend the money on a new pair! I could replace the pads but the inner fabric and the heads trap are hard to replace. again I understand that there's practically nothing wrong with doing that but with headphones I rather stay away from it. I can always try asking there too! this sale is gonna end soon tho
  5. Hi I used to have a pair of HD 518 but i sadly had to abandon them when moving to Canada and give them to my brother. I need a new pair now to replace them the options in Canada (I'm from Vancouver) seem to be the SHP 9500 for 125$(CAD, way more expensive than the us) a Fidelio X2HR for 200$CAD HD 599 SE for 129$CAD. the 58X are 149$USD but I get a 20$USD coupon (Not working again today but i contacted support). unlike the other it has shipping and customs upon arrival (15$USD shipping, no idea about duties, estimate is 187 CAD with duties after coupon) I'm not exactly rich and I can't pay much, but considering that my last pair lasted 7 years and didn't even die (I just gave them away) I really rather invest in something similar rather than something that'll break again I honestly can't tell anything above 256kbps apart and although my WH-1000XM2 are noticeably worse than my HD 518 I might probably not hear a lot of the differences most audiophiles do? I listen to metal/punk mainly but I love all kinds of music. I think I prefer a more "flat" neutral sound. I wear it a lot so I want something very comfy like my HD 518 i'd love wireles but I know that even if I up my budget I won't get anything good. my HD 518 were connected to a fiio btr3k. I heard that the 599 were pretty much the same as my 518 sound quality wise just more expensive so it makes me sad, though it's a good thing in a way because that HD 518 was more durable than a tank. I dropped it ran over it with my chair and barely scratch! TLDR: any ideas which I should get? any other recommendations? I'm not sure if the Fidelio has replaceable pads as that's VERY important to me
  6. Hey, Take this with a grain of salt, but I had an MWE (v1) gold 80+ 750w cooler master psu, it started randomly shutting down when I was using my PC, I checked it with a crap red bare bones Oscilloscopes (the stuff you find on for 22$). I set the ms (i think that's the measuring speed right?) to like 1ms or something I'd see spiked up to 12.5v which is pretty crap. it also did cause me a ton of issues so I had to buy a new one (with the GF1 ARGB everything works perfect). but i'm only a hobbyist who hasn't made anything electronic in a bit. Maybe you can add it to the potentially dangerous or low quality stuff?
  7. lol I'm gonna use it for my stuff when I travel i guess xD
  8. Yeah! and i tried to measure the old PSU with a crap and probably inaccurate oscilloscope (the red kit ones) and at certain measuring rates I could see spikes going up to 12.5v under like a 300w load 0_0 I'm tempted to report this PSU on the PSU tier list as potentially dangerous, but my oscilloscope wasn't a fancy one. but then again it did cause me issues. The new one doesn't also make the very loud coil whine, tho at high loads it makes a bit of it? and it makes the ever smallest slightest whine at idle or small load. you can only hear it if your ears are at the right direction so meh. but it did drive me bad before i shifted my pc a bit. (i have insanely sensitive ears....) The manual of the new GF1 ARGB PSU did say that OVP triggers at 14.5v tho.. which worried me! at that point my GPU might've died!
  9. it's ok! and so far with my new GF1 ARGB (damn gotta admit... this psu is kinda pretty ;O and fancy.. it even came with a dumb bag in case i wanna take it out for a walk or something?! lol) i've had zero issues! so it probably was my old PSU. it had super loud coil whine too
  10. that's 2700x. my 2700 is 8947 on that list! I think I might have meant 8900 tho. strange that I only get 8500 with default motherboard settings. maybe it's my ram?
  11. PBO barel makes a difference. just mainly boosts my voltages to up to 1.45
  12. Hi, i OCed my ryzen 2700 to 1.25v at 3.8ghz and it usually runs at 3.76ghz during cinabench r23. I have a b450 asus tuf gaming pro and 2x 8gb 3000mhz ram I went from 9500 to 9950~ which is great! (around 16% improvement!) but my single core went from 1050 to 1005. which is a 5% decrease. is there a way i can change this? It doesn't boost anymore during single core workloads! and my clocks usually idle at 1.2v when watching youtube now! is there a way to fix that too! (power plan is already balanced)
  13. Update; it shutdown once with rhe side panel off. I'm waiting for my new PSU
  14. yeah! heck i put a 3.8ghz overclock at 1.27v with my stock cooler (5m of cina gets it to 87c but never above) and it's still running great! i'm debating ordering one of those pretty extension cables for the GPU because these stock bulky GPU cables are so tick it pushes against the side pannel. i assume a 212 evo would easily get me to 4ghz at 1.3v but honestly... I doubt it's worth the 3-4% estimated perfromance gain. just 2 extra frames at 90fps for 30$. might as well sell the CPU and spend the extra on a 3600x
  15. ok o far it' snot shutting down with the side pannel off?!!!! could the issue be my panel putting pressure on the GPU power cables? I noticed that it was putting pressure on the GPU cables
