  1. GPUs often stay with the fans turned off when in idle. This usually means that eventually the temperature goes up and it starts the fans to keep the GPU below a certain temperature, where it turns the fans off again. Breaking the fan would not be a wise idea, however. Maybe while in idle set the GPU fans to run at 15-20% so that it doesn't fluctuate between passive and active cooling.
  2. I have checked the system info and realized that Windows is installed in Legacy mode. I thought it was in UEFI so I decided I should do a reinstall (I'm not interested in UEFI for W11). I have tried both Rufus and the Windows Installation Media Tool to make a Windows 10 Pro installer USB stick, however both installation methods crash, with the motherboard splash screen glitched and nothing happening. I can get into the USB stick if I boot it in Legacy mode, however. I also had an issue with the Linux installer crashing too, so it might all be linked together. I did have Windows installed as UEFI on an old SATA SSD, however that was done when I had an older motherboard (Asus) and CPU that I swapped out. My specs are as follows: Ryzen 5 3600, MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max, R9 390 GPU and as a boot drive an M.2 Kingston A2000 500GB. I have tried running the default BIOS settings, putting the USB stick in the 2.0 port, and I also have secure boot off. My USB stick is quite old, and quite used. Maybe that is the problem, however I always used this stick for my Windows installs, so I dont know why it would stop working like that. Any help would be apreciated.
  3. the PSU is an RM650x and I have Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz. The BIOS is the first BIOS the motherboard came with, I haven't updated it.
  4. Since I got an MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max and a Ryzen 5 3600, I've been getting GPU crashes once in a while. Restarting the computer doesn't help, neither does flipping the BIOS switch on the GPU (an AMD R9 390 PowerColor PCS+), the only thing that helps is clearing the CMOS battery. I have no changes done in the BIOS except having th XMP profile activated and turning all the fans at max speed. I don't know if it's power consumption as I can run very demanding games no problem. The games where I had the GPU crash were both CSGO and Valorant, however I do have 7 drives total in my computer, one of which is an SSD, and a PSU of 650W. Maybe one of the drives is activating in the backround and pushing my PSU over the limit?

    Windows 11

I've been hearing a lot about Windows 11, and I am a bit confused. Will Windows 11 even exist? From what I heard, Windows 10 was meant to be the last version that they would just keep updating. Will Windows 11 just be an update or something sold separately?
  6. Oh, then I don't really have a use for it. Sorry.
  7. I think I'll try Manjaro and see how it runs.
  8. It's very Ubuntu-like, and it looks great. Would it run well? I have tried Ubuntu but it was still slow.
  9. It looks great but I still fear that the requirements may be too high. Would it run smoothly?
  10. Is Bodhi Linux a good distro? Seems very lightweight and it looks bearable.
  11. I've read about Tiny Core however I fear that I might be losing functionality with that OS.
  12. I have this Lenovo laptop that I use as my secondary device sometimes, however it is unbearably slow. It has 4GB RAM and a Pentium N3540 that just chugs along. I have tried Ubuntu, Windows 10 and 8.1, and even with a decent SSD in the place of its 5400RPM HDD it's still very slow. I only ever use it for YouTube and sometimes Discord. I could really use some recommendations for extremely lightweight OS's, but please, not something that looks terrible.
  13. Yes, I understand but that would be coming in August... I also have no access to eBay, Amazon or any other online stores that not are local in my country, however those stores have insane prices for these adapters.
  14. In my country they're stupidly expensive. Either online or from a store it's around 20 bucks for the most basic of adapters.
  15. Is there any app that allows me to connect my phone to my PC via a cable, and connect a Bluetooth controller to my phone so that I can use it on the PC wireless?
  16. Audio is switched to the device I'm using (Realtek(R) Audio) and it still doesn't work. Any application be it windowed, borderless, fullscreen, exclusive fullscreen, and even recognised ones by Discord don't share with any sound.
  17. I know that. Sharing application doesn't help.
  18. I replaced my old intel platform with AMD. Before, when I was on the intel platform (Mobo was a Z170-P) I could scree share on Discord with sound. Now on the MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max trhe screen share gets no sound. It doesn't matter if the application is recognized by Discord, it still doesn't have sound. I have my drivers installed and Discord recognizes the audio devices and the driver name, and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling discord, using discord in the browser and uninstalling and updating my drivers. Currently using Nahimic 1.6.5, however in discord it is recognized as Realtek(R) Audio. Any tips? It worked perfectly on the Asus motherboard.
  19. You are literally creating a void in your case. turn some fans the other way around.
  20. Try uninstalling the drivers using DDU and install the newest drivers or some older drivers from before two months ago.
  21. Alright, I'll give it a go at 1.4V
  22. sure, I'll try. Any good programs for testing memory?
  23. The last part is actually news to me. I expected some consistency in their marketing. The part with binning I did know.
