  1. So I needed to test if a gpu worked as it wasn't working in the other pc. I plugged it in and turnt it on and there was no display. So I unplugged it and turnt on the PC to use like before (with the integrated graphics). Now the integrated graphics isn't working. Did my gpu just murder my pc?
  2. Alright so the Pc i have was working fine until a few days ago when for some reason the fans stopped working. We figured out that the fan hub had died so we swapped the fans and fanhub. But inbetween that time something weird has happened. The pc got stuck in a boot loop with no display from the gpu or the igpu. All that happens is the power light on the case and gpu turn on, and the fans turn on. I dont think it has any debug mode and also, i have tried resetting the cmos. Specs below Intel i5 3470 Asrock Z77 Pro3 Asus GTX 970 CWT 750w psu Barracuda 1tb HDD + 500Gb HDD
  3. The closest thing I could find was the front panel connecter for the reset switch. This build is really sketch btw
  4. The rest of the PC works BTW, just the fans. But the fans are connected to this thing. Video below. Maybe something snapped there? VID_20210112_233739.mp4
  5. The fans aren't set to silent. The gpu one might be but that's not what I'm concerned about, it's mostly the chassis fans I'm scared of. Also I know it's not going to explode, that was a joke, but I think some of the hardware could be damaged if it continues
  6. Alright. My brother, who knows a little bit about pcs, but not enough to build one properly, installed a new HDD we got to increase storage. We also did a factory reset. Now, for some reason, even though it wasnt doing this before the factory reset, none of the fans or LEDs except from the stock cpu cooler power on. When I came into my brothers room and saw that the fans weren't off, I turnt it off and opened the sidepanel and was able to see that it was extremely hot 70+ idle temps and smelt like burning. It's now off by the plug. What caused this and how do I fix it? (I've attached a video showing what it's like when turned on now) *also I know it's a rather old build with old hardware VID_20210112_224447.mp4
  7. Alirght, So I have a 1tb HDD with about 50GB left that for about 4 years I have been using as my main C drive, I tried plugging in a spare HDD I had and later figured out it was incompatible, So I swapped it out for a compatible 500gb HDD. Then the main one wouldnt boot windows, So I Changed the plugs and used the 500gb One for my main one instead. I also had to sign in as admin to access the files on the previously main one. Why is this happening and how can I just use it like before. By the way, right now the 1tb drive is E and the 500gb one is C. How do I swap them or force it to boot from the E one. sorry if this is confusing
  8. Im having a look on paypal now, Thanks for the suggestion
  9. I have. I'll look harder for the physical box, But i dont think that's gonna help as it doesn't say where I bought it from. I cant find a trace of where I bought it from anywhere. I know I bought a mobo bundle from Awd-it, But the Gpu was seperate.
  10. What should I do in my situation then instead? Should I just buy a new one?
  11. Yeah that's Fair, I still have the Gpu and the Serial code. Sorry If I seem out of touch, Im new to this stuff
  12. Alright, So my GPU (XFX Rx 580 8gb) I bought from a site I cannot remember roughly 7 months ago recently broke from presumably something I did not do. I cannot find receipts or boxes anywhere as we have moved house since, and the emails seem to have been deleted. I contacted AMD, asking about the warranty, Which i apparently have about 2 years of, And they told me to contact XFX on their reeeeaaallly dated support site. I did this and was told that I would either have to find the website I bought it from or pay 100 euros (£80~) And possibly more for the tax Including shipping, I'd Probably pay around £150 in total. Keep in mind that I would be very close to just losing money here as the gpu costed around 160-180 It would ship to the Netherlands, Then to Hong Kong with the rest of their faulty ones, Then they will test it, Then It will be sent to somewhere in China to get a replacement, Then it will go back to Hong Kong for Shipping, And finally, Back to me. They estimated that WITHOUT the restrictions of covid, this would take 6-8 weeks. Also, If the card is tested not to be faulty, Then thats £100 quid down the drain for no reason. And I'd either have to let them keep it, or wait weeks for it to come back. Is there any other solution, or am I just better off buying a new GPU? Also, For anyone who may know, The website had a blue on white colour scheme and was on Pcpartpicker when i bought it back in either Jan or Febuary 2020. Thanks.
  13. I'll Test the Gpu in a sec, But it is recieving power and the fans are on
  14. It's a 500w one I think. It came with a mobo combo I got which had the mobo, cpu, ram and psu. Let me check the exact one. But I think it's a corsair one.
  15. Just got it, It worked less than 30 mins ago, nothing happened that could've messed it up, and I've had it for less than 3 months. To clarify, I dont Know. But its unlikely.
  16. Alright, so The Pc I made for Christmas (specs at the bottom) Had to be shut down with the power button because it was lagging really hard. But when I turn it back on, no signal comes from the GPU, So I have to use the CPU's Graphics. The computer's boot screen was, by default, on the cpu, But now, the whole PC only displays on the cpu. Any fix? Specs AMD Ryzen 5 3400G XFX RX 580 8GB ( " XFX AMD Radeon™ RX 580 GTS XXX Edition 8GB" ) Asus Prime A320M-K 16GB DDR4 3200mhz 2TB Barracuda HDD Crappy £50 1080p Monitor
  17. I think it may be a redragon clone actually since the logos look pretty different
  18. So, It's basically, As @WereCatf said, Its basically quality of life. Alright, Seperate question then, is there any way to test the difference without buying a keyboard?
  19. Imma start by saying this post is not to offend or insult people who have or do pay a lot for peripherals. I just need to know why so that I can decide what type I should get my sister (If i even should) And how much I should pay. Alright. So, I have been using the same keyboard for quite a while now, And its been being used for probably wayy longer since i got it from my cousin, who had been using it for 3 years, who got it from a charity shop. Now, I think it's a regular membrane keyboard, From a strange Chinese dragon company, with the American layout. Im British So the main issues are these: The lights on it only light up orange and never turn off Its got the American layout. yuck and, every 30-50hrs it just stops and you have to unplug, wait ten seconds and replug it back in. (However that may just be because of my old ass pc) However, If you got rid of those, Why not just get a cheap £30 rgb membrane keyboard. What are the main advantages of a more expensive keyboard. Oh! also, a little side question, Can anyone identify the company this keyboard is from? I've linked a picture. All the knowledge I have is that my cousin gave me a tecknet mousepad with it, although I'm not sure if they are actually connected.
  20. So my gtx 970 lost one of its fan blades a while ago, it's an asus directCU II and I cant find its blades anywhere
