  1. I tried everything, a very aggressive fan curve on MSi Afterburner, when I had two fans in the front of the case, it only dropped the temps by 1c, and it was just louder without anything to make up for it. so I guess I've got no choice but to change the thermal paste?
  2. Yea it's past the return period, plus being stuck for a month without my GPU is something i'd like to avoid, as delivery nowadays takes a lot of time to reach my area.
  3. It's a brand new card and the fans are working, I don't see why a new gpu would need cleaning
  4. Temps were around 86c before I massively underclocked and undervolted, I was willing to take the performance hit as long as it had good thermals and noise, but now it's loud, doesn't run as well, getting hotter and will probably continue to get hotter. I'm essentially getting the same noise levels pre-undervolt/clock, except now at deteriorating thermals and lower clock speeds, so that's why I want to fix it before it gets worse.
  5. I bought a 1660 Super Ventus XS OC, I've already posted a thread some time ago discussing my issues with the overheating. I undervolted it to ~831mV compared to the stock 1031mV, and for a while, it helped. It floated around 65c, then eventually reached 70c, and now it's reaching 76c, playing the same games at the same settings with the same fan set-up. So, should I take the risk and buy some Noctua NT-H1 and change out the thermal paste? I want a permanent solution to this noise&temperature issue which has had me monitoring my temps for a few months now, but I'm cautious about the risk of voiding warranty, possible mess-ups etc, what are your opinions?
  6. Well yea if you wanna upgrade something, you'll have to upgrade everything, basically the only thing you'll keep is the storage
  7. Hello! a dumb question about a fan I just purchased, can I mount it in another spot? Can I take it out of its current spot, and place it in another spot? I'm wondering because the screws cut into the plastic of the fan, and I'm not sure if that allows me to remount it again, and I'm hoping it's not a permanent placement, any help?
  8. It's not even eligible for a return.
  9. Hello everyone, recently I purchased a 1660 Super Ventus XS OC and it's been running very hot. Temps ranging from 81 to 85 and sometimes 86c. I installed an exhaust fan in the back and it hasn't helped with the temperatures at all. I've been wondering if anyone else has this issue with this card and if there are any solutions for it? Thanks.
