  2. Hi there. I'm turning on my PC and all the fans spin normally and powers up, however, there is no ouput to the monitor at all. The screen just stays black. Things I've tried: Cleaning everything Checked all wires and that GPU sits correctly. Trying another GPU (the same outcome) Switched the position of the CMOS jumper and then put it back. Installing a new motherboard Installing new PSU Changing the one 8GB stick of RAM into another slot. Monitor and HDMI with laptop (worked fine) Plugging HDMI into Mobo. (But my CPU doesn't have integrated graphics) Before all of this happened, I was having a problem where my PC would crash and I'd have the "Bad System Config" error, as shown in the photo below. Windows was not booting properly at all. I was about to complete reinstall Windows, but then it wouldn't power on. Now it does power on after installing new PSU and new Mobo, however, no output. Does anybody have any idea of what could be wrong and anything I could do? I am desperate and about to give up. Haha. Thank you very much.
  3. Hi, I'm looking to replace my faulty PSU on my oldish system. Could anybody recommend a decent 500w PSU that will be ideal for my specs? Thank you very much! Motherboard Biostar Hi-Fi A70U3P RAM: 16gb Hyper Fury X DDR3 CPU: AMD Athlon X4 880K 4.2GHz Storage: Seagate 1TB 3.5" SATA Desktop Hard Drive GPU: MSI GTX 970 4GB PSU: XFX P1-500B-XTFR 500W ATX 500Watts OS: Win 10 64bit
  4. Thank you for your advice. Looking at the motherboard, all the caps look pretty identical in condition. I can’t see any abnormalities. Would you then expect a bad CPU? Many thanks
  5. What happened was one day I turned on my computer and Windows could not successfully boot. I kept getting this error message (in the photos). It would not let me fix it. I was about to wipe it clean and fresh install...But it just wouldn't turn back on. I'd click the power on button, and the fan would attempt to spin and then turn off. I've cleaned it all out. Replaced the CMOS. I have switched the reset and power button cables round. Tried without GPU. Tried removing a stick of RAM. There is still an LED lit on the motherboard. I've removed the PSU and done a paper clip test, and it ran with the paper clip. Triple checked all cables. Applied new thermal paste to the CPU. I'm thinking perhaps something wrong with the PSU or motherboard? Can anyone shed some light? Obviously, right now we are in isolation, and it's not easy to find a repair person right now. I was wondering if I could buy a replacement part instead. Anyone know what the fault could be, and anything that I could do? There is a video attached, if you want to see.
