  1. Great! thanks all for your replies I think I have all I need to propose something really nice.
  2. Thanks both! I think it's mostly the brand he knows, but if the 7800XT is better for cheaper, then why bother! And do you believe until July there will be releases that would change this config.? thank you!
  3. Thanks for your reply and advise! Do you believe there could be a variant with a Nvidia card?
  4. Budget (including currency): 2000 Euros Country: France Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Warzone 2.0 and other current games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi everyone, I'm planning to help my friend, mid-July, to assemble and install his PC together. He only has a headset, he would need the PC itself and a mouse, keyboard and monitor for 2 000 Euros, licenses not included. He would like a 1440p 144Hz 27" display, wireless keyboard and mouse (Logitech G). For the PC components he left that up to me to pick, and I would like to seek advise from you. We would have a preference for Nvidia GPUs. For the processor I would say an AMD one, as I assume they are the best in terms of price/performance but this might no longer be true. For the motherboard, we have durability in mind so maybe it's more advisable to go for AM5? For the RAM, same logic as above, maybe DDR5 is more advisable, I am no longer sure if 16GB is enough these days? He would prefer air cooled PC, he has no preference in terms of lighting, so I would go for a good Noctua cooler, and maybe a Corsair case? For drives, we would go for a nvme SSD, 1 To at PCIE 4.0 speeds. For the PSU, I suppose it will depend on the GPU, but a 80+ Gold modular or more would be preferred. Also, considering the PC parts would be bought in June / early July, should we wait for any major releases? May I have your proposals? Thank you! Kind regards P-J
  5. Thanks for your reply, I've kept the original cable, I've tried on a hub which was connected from a USB-C output on my laptop with, supposedly, a 100 W of power delivery, but it did this sound. The same happened on a regular USB type A (3.0) output on my laptop. I haven't considered the fact that the laptop was not plugged in and was using its battery, I'll try with the laptop plugged in.
  6. Hello everyone, Recently when I kept my external HDD (WD Elements 4TB) plugged in, my computer would not boot, and when I plugged it back after booting, sometimes I would have no issues reading and writing from/to it, sometimes it wouldn't respond. In such cases I could hear the sound I've recorded and attached to my message. Should I start making copies of what's inside because it's an early sign of failure or it's nothing too worrying ? Thanks ! HDD Sound.m4a
  7. Hi , sorry for the late reply ! I tried once using the SD slot but it's too slow it's a nightmare, and trying to install Windows updates with the SD card creates bugs ... I ended up installing Ubuntu and it works fine so far ! It's a Vivobook, but maybe they are the successor to the EeeBook ? It cost us around 400 € I think
  8. Hi ! Great video thanks ! But I've been trying to do the step-by-step guide here : https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/clocktuner_for_ryzen_ctr_guide_download,2.html And I'm blocking on two things : On my motherboard (Asus Prime X570-Pro) I can't find the proper LLC settings "ASUS - LLC 3 (Level 3)" becasue my options are regular medium high and extreme, and I don't know what level 3 refers to here. The guide also says : "It is recommended to use additional settings for ASUS motherboard owners: Phase mode - Standard; Current capability mode - 100%" But I can't find those two options, and I'd like to do this right, could you please help me ? Thanks !
  9. There's less than 30 GB of total storage, I'll check if it would be enough for ubuntu ... Thanks for all your replies
  10. I didn't know it was a thing, except on smartphones ... It's terrible for upgradability ! Thanks for your reply
  11. Hi everyone, My father has an Asus Vivobook E403S and the storage on his computer is so limited that Windows 10 can't perform any updates. So I decided to open it up to check what kind of drive I could install to solve this problem. The thing is, I can't find any sort of drive in the laptop ? No 2.5" bay, no M.2 slot ... Do you guys know where it is ? I'm confused Attached you'll find an image of what I saw ! Thanks for your help )

    Bright PC monitor

Hi everyone! I'm looking to replace my current monitor with one brighter. I have an eye condition which restricts my field of view so I can't have a wide monitor, 24 inches is the limit. Also I have difficulties with low light environments, this includes low brightness monitors. So I was wondering if you could help me out finding a 24 inches monitor with a brightness superior to 400 cd/m²? If it is 120 or 144 hz FHD or 1440p it is a plus. I intend on spending 350 € (I'm in the EU) maximum, but if there's no reference at that price point I would understand. Thanks for your time !
