  1. Hey, thank you! I didn't know these existed! The other side of the Cat6 cable goes all the way into the back of the router labelled "Gig Ethernet" port so that shouldn't be a problem (if I've understood this correctly). I've found "RJ45 CAT6 Keystone Jack" on Amazon so I'll purchase theses and hopefully void the switch all together, thank you so much Needfuldoer!!!
  2. Hey all! I've found myself in a bit of a pickle and was wondering if I can pick someone's brain to get assistance. I currently have a Cat6 ethernet cable entering my room. Unfortunatly its about 2ft short to reach all the way to my PC so a few years ago, I put a Gigabit Network switch in my room so I plugged the incoming Cat6 cable into as the incoming connection then I plugged a Cat7 ethernet cable from the switch to my PC. My internet download has never been above 100mbs so I never had any bottlenecks...until now. I've upgraded to 900mbs with my ISP and I can see both my motherboard (MSI PRO Z690-P DDR4 - 2.5GB rated speed), Cat6 (10Gbps rated speed) and Cat7 (10>Gbps rated speed) support beyond what I need but the network switch (TP-Link TL-SG105S) only goes up to 1000Mbps which is I think is the cause of my slow download rate to my desktop. If I download a game on Steam for example, on my desktop PC, I get max 64Mbps but on my laptop (which is Wi-Fi), I can get Peak 563Mbps. With all this context, I've looked for a 10Gbps Network Switch but they don't really exist on Amazon (within the UK at least). In my shoes, is there a specific network switch you can provide? Or simply ditch the hardwire and get a PCIe Wi-Fi card? If the PCIe Wi-Fi card, what "GHz"/Speed should I be looking for? For visual reference of my current setup, I've attached a lovely Paint PNG to help! Sorry for any inaccuracies in the above rated speeds or anything, still coming to terms with all of this information but I've tried my best! Any tips or info would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!!
  3. Hey all! This is an odd question but I've found myself in a bit of a pickle. I want to run a Windows 10 or 11 VM on my my PC (which is Windows 10 Home). The issue here is Hyper-V is not enabled on Win10 Home. I've found it is possible to enable Hyper-V on Win10 Home edition but it ends up screwing up a few other application (BlueStacks etc). So my thinking is if there is a third party application when I can simply run the VM within Win10 Home, this would be fantastic but I'm a completely newbie when it comes to VM's so I was wondering, can anyone vouch for a decent "idiot-proof" VM software that isnt Hyper-V please? This is for personal use if that's something you'd need to know. Appreciate the help!!!!
  4. This is more to everyone, I purchased a £7 stock air cooler and everything is absolutely fine, must have got a broken/faulty AIO.
  5. Ive got a I7 6700 Skylake, wiped with lint free towel and the isoprpyl alcohol liquid, grain of rice sized thermal paste, the tubes are vibrating so guess thats pumping water through, the fan only turns on when needed but changed in bios to be 100% going and can confirm does work, the cooler is brand new but the I7, ive had this for 3 years, ive ordered a typical intel stock air cooler which should arive tomorrow as the only component changed is the AIO so that should help troubleshoot the issue, i believe it is the AIO (maybe a crap one) but we'll soon find out, thanks for the help and i will keep this updated as may help someone in the future! Hi guys, just an update, tried re-seating the cooler and put anoyher brand of thermal pasted and same exact issue, soon as i boot into windows, all good temps but launch any games, hits 100 and blue screens. Also followed your instructions on the cross pattern of tighening as well.

  7. makes sense, thank you! I'll re-seat the actual cooler and see how we go, really appreciate your help! Will keep this topic on my findings.
  8. I believe so but not 100% sure how to correct this. Am I correct in saying that even if the PC was idle, wouldn't I still see rising temps due to bad contact? This is why this idea didnt come to me straight away.
  9. Hi all, First time on this forum but thought i'd give this a shout due to the required help. I've finally took the jump and purchased a MasterCooler AIO Liquid 120 Lite cooler for my CPU and everything is running brilliant if my PC is idle but if i begin to run a game, the temps rocket to 90-100 and if it does rise above 100, my PC shuts down. I just wondered if anyone has any ideas what I can do? I've made sure the fan is blowing into the radiator (I believe this is correct), the fan has power as I can see the fan spin up when loading a game. I can also feel the water through the pipes so i know its pumping the coolant around. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Just to add, if i open the task manager with a game in the background, the temps drop and the fans stops as no longer required but as game is in windowed mode, it still renders and carries on processing...
