  1. Thank you all for your replies. I took a screwdriver and shorted out the CLR_CMOS pins out, for anyone who stumbles across this thread in the future it on the bottom right corner of the motherboard above the front panel IO. When I rebooted my system dialogue about the main BIOS being corrupted appeared and a progress bar ran through. Upon reboot nothing had changed. I repeated the above process, only this time when powering on I was greeted with dialogue asking me if I wanted to enter the BIOS or load optimised defaults. I selected optimised defaults. I am now looking at a Windows 10 login screen.
  2. Update, the following thread on another forum appears to work for many. I have been trying it to no success. I'm going to keep trying. "After having the same problem twice, I finally found the answer, there is a possibility to load the BACKUP BIOS... See what I found, it worded, not a jock. BIOS Recover Method Via Manually Invoking BACKUP BIOS Auto-Recovery Using Power Supply - On/Off Switch It is possible to make the BIOS Auto-Recovery kick in (Dual BIOS) and re-flash the MAIN BIOS with the contents of the BACKUP BIOS. This is a simple and easy method for anyone to try before having to resort to other more difficult methods, or a RMA. 1. Shut off the power supply using the switch on the back of the PSU, wait 10-15 seconds. 2. Press and hold the case Power On swtich, then while still holding turn on the power supply from the switch on the rear. 3. Still holding the case power on switch, the board will start, once it does release the case power on switch and shut off the power supply via the switch on the rear of the unit. (Do the latter two parts as quickly as you can once the board starts) 4. The board will shut down. 5. Turn the power supply back on using the switch on the rear of the unit. 6. Turn on the motherboard by pressing the case power on button." Thread: https://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/57335-dual-bios-dead-corrupted-blue-screen-bios-freeze-lga-2011-ga-x79-ud3.html
  3. Hello LTT forum, I'm in need of some assistance. Description When I went to turn on my computer today my computer automatically went to the screen in the attached image when booting. I do not get the option to put in any input. My system has been completely functional for 8 years until this point. Motherboard: GA-X79-UP4 BIOS: Unknown GPU: GTX 1070 Troubleshooting performed Multiple reboots Disconnection from power followed by removal of CMOS battery for minutes Switched out GPU to a GTX 750 Notes based on my research This motherboard / BIOS may not get along with my newer GPU, which is why I tried switching out GPUs I may need to update the BIOS, however I do not want to make things worse. Given my lack of experience I have not taken action to do so yet, I don't even know how to update a BIOS like this. In advance, thank you for you help.
