bdk74 reacted to kokosnh in Question Looking for NVME with great write performance/price - Need Advise!
Any decent SSD on 176l TLC micron, on good controller will do.
anything, there are lots of SSD on this NAND and Phison E18, especially 2TB versions, were SSD can leverage better controllers and more available NAND.

the MP44L have good NAND 176L TLC micron, but weak controller Phison E21T (1-core, 4-channel, DRAMless )

the good sustained writes are all thanks to the good NAND used, but the controller is holding it back, especially in 2TB version.

Hi so there is Samsung VA panel LSM340YP05 that is used by couple manufactures which comes with 3 years warranty and pretty amazing performance (i.e per TomsHardware) for the price.

    Completely agree with you.

You'll see an upgrade going 30 series if you care about raytracing performance. Going to a 20 series card will not really be an upgrade at all, it'll just be introductory raytracing performance and an okay performance uptick in rasterization. Next gen, definitely for sure, you will see an upgrade in but is probably far out unless AMD keeps the heat on Nvidia, like we are already seeing between AMD and Intel.

A 1080 should still be capable in games today. Also, if the card is running hot since you owned the card, consider reapplying new thermal paste.

I need to say that this is the first time I've purchased NH and I must say I'm blown away.

With stock I was reaching 81+ C when in use vs 61+ C with NH. I'm literally seeing 20+ C difference.

I think NH just got a new customer for life!

Thanks for all the comments again. I went with same setup as @venomx

Sorry since I have you the wrong url, I just copied what you have in the sig. It says 474W recommended +- with load of 424 so with this PSU you should be fine without any OCing of course.,

@Mark Kainebtw for your monitor 1070 is an overkill for you. 1080p@60hz...imho i wouldn't waste $ unless you will upgrade to higher end monitor in the future. I have 1080 evga running 34k ultra at 21:9 and this gpu still runs smooth on ultra everything...

Yes, it is. Many vendors do this. Frankly, I like it better: one less moving part to break
    The manual is just generic.

Picture in manual is super duper dated, even my AM3+ mobos I believe are the single side latch.

With 2 DIMMS you are pointing at the correct to slots to use on that board, slide in the bottom (closest to GPU) first then latch the top (have the board) (at least that's what I do)

bdk74 reacted to Alan G in SeaSonic PSU question?
I can only tell you my experience.  I've done maybe 15 builds over the years, all with Seasonic PSUs.  I had one failure after warranty with a G-360 on my HTPC that stopped giving the power good signal on coming out of sleep (I no longer put the HTPC to sleep, keeping it on 24/7; same with my workstation).  My workstation sits on a small desk and is maybe 10 inches away from my seat.  My new build is in a Fractal Define R6 with a Seasonic Focus Gold 650 W PSU that I run in hybrid mode.  It's totally silent.  I don't game but do a fair amount of programming and financial calculations.  Maybe these don't stress things as much but I've been happy with how quiet it is.

One bundled SSD heatsink, 5-channel audio with optical, possibly slightly better VRM, RGB sync support, neither of this really that important tho.
