  1. At around 2:47 he says Direct Storage produces nearly a 3× speedup, but it looks like it's actually over 4×? 0.33/0.08=4.125. Am I misinterpreting?
  2. Looking forward to Asahi impressions and benchmarks from @GabenJrnice nick btw, if the recent PS4 video is anything to go by. Amazing project, and I've heard some good things about the alpha already
  3. Hopefully reviewers give pads+gyro aim a shot. The Steam Controller got a lot of mixed reviews for being "weird" when it released but it has a cult following (myself included) for its unique (and honestly unmatched) configurability and featureset. r/SteamController and channels like Critical Input, Mennenth, and RambleTam put out some great content on how to get the most out of the SC. The LTT review of the SC was a bit of a letdown in my opinion; so I'm hoping the Deck succeeds and brings touchpad aim (and Linux gaming!) to the masses, even if the pads are a bit compromised on the Deck compared to the SC.
  4. Yeah, it must not be working. Thanks anyway
  5. A forum mod replied with some info about the Discord, so I assumed they had some sort of influence, thanks. Thanks, I messaged one but he's on friends-only (probably due to crypto bot spam), so hopefully that will work. Regarding the various mentions of poor moderation, that's too bad but it's not really relevant to me. I don't really care what the moderation team is like. I'm just trying to lurk and search the history, same as I do here occasionally.
  6. Thanks for giving an answer. I logged out and in on both the forum and Discord, but it still says I have to verify a phone. I'm Lhindir#9433 if you're able to manually approve.
  7. I'm sure, but I'd still like to check it out. It's still advertised in the sidebar.
  8. I've linked my forum account with my Discord account, which is supposed to work if you don't have a phone number according to old posts here. But when I join, Discord says I need to verify my phone. Is possible to join without a phone number, or is the Discord closed again?
  9. Completely agree; it's a travesty that they didn't mention Remote Play Anywhere (or Parsec). Technically they may compete more directly with Nvidia GameStream than the services in the video, where you don't need a PC, but most of Linus' viewers have a PC and a large game library, often on Steam, making Remote Play Anywhere a zero-friction alternative. You don't need to pay or even make a new account! Plus, you can even do it on iOS, which several of these services don't support yet. And Remote Play Together to play local multiplayer games together remotely is awesome, especially in these trying quarantine times. Only the host has to own the game. I created an account just to point this out, haha. I probably sound like a total Steam shill, and to be honest, I kind of am. Valve actively contributes to efforts towards supporting gaming on Linux and (generally) the consumer, so Valve gets my money. And yes, you can use Remote Play Anywhere (and all forms of Remote Play) from Linux. But regardless of my bias for Valve, Remote Play Anywhere is a competitive service that should be objectively tested against its competitors!
