  2. I would imagine as there are WUs that can only be done by CPU. Don't think it makes sense to compare CPU und GPU points.

  4. Did you try manually selecting different VPN endpoints?
  5. Hi Gorgon, It was already on Medium, this also happens with no load on the CPU. Was the GUI running on the same NVIDIA GPU that is currently folding? I found this solution to install and run FAHControl without problems under Ubuntu 19.10: https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=31972&sid=679d44d88335552743cd67bd7b5b2c55&start=15#p320349
  6. Proceeded as described in initial post. Seems to work very well so far. Can not notice any lag while the RTX 2080 Super is folding. GNOME using the AMD card, folding only on the NVIDIA. Had to make 0 adjustments to Ubuntu, it picked the RX480 (lower slot of ASUS TUF x570) for Xorg and GDM. Not sure if that's because it's the only card with a monitor connected, was the one putting out the picture during boot .. or just luck Log output: 19:27:46:************************* Folding@home Client ************************* 19:27:46: Website: https://foldingathome.org/ 19:27:46: Copyright: (c) 2009-2018 foldingathome.org 19:27:46: Author: Joseph Coffland <joseph@cauldrondevelopment.com> 19:27:46: Args: 19:27:46: Config: /var/lib/fahclient/config.xml 19:27:46:******************************** Build ******************************** 19:27:46: Version: 7.5.1 19:27:46: Date: May 11 2018 19:27:46: Time: 19:59:04 19:27:46: Repository: Git 19:27:46: Revision: 4705bf53c635f88b8fe85af7675557e15d491ff0 19:27:46: Branch: master 19:27:46: Compiler: GNU 6.3.0 20170516 19:27:46: Options: -std=gnu++98 -O3 -funroll-loops 19:27:46: Platform: linux2 4.14.0-3-amd64 19:27:46: Bits: 64 19:27:46: Mode: Release 19:27:46:******************************* System ******************************** 19:27:46: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor 19:27:46: CPU ID: AuthenticAMD Family 23 Model 113 Stepping 0 19:27:46: CPUs: 24 19:27:46: Memory: 15.61GiB 19:27:46: Free Memory: 12.12GiB 19:27:46: Threads: POSIX_THREADS 19:27:46: OS Version: 5.3 19:27:46: Has Battery: false 19:27:46: On Battery: false 19:27:46: UTC Offset: 2 19:27:46: PID: 5143 19:27:46: CWD: /var/lib/fahclient 19:27:46: OS: Linux 5.3.0-45-generic x86_64 19:27:46: OS Arch: AMD64 19:27:46: GPUs: 2 19:27:46: GPU 0: Bus:4 Slot:0 Func:0 AMD:5 Ellesmere XT [Radeon RX 19:27:46: 470/480/570/580/590] 19:27:46: GPU 1: Bus:10 Slot:0 Func:0 NVIDIA:8 TU104 [GeForce RTX 2080 Super] 19:27:46: CUDA Device 0: Platform:0 Device:0 Bus:10 Slot:0 Compute:7.5 Driver:10.1 19:27:46:OpenCL Device 0: Platform:0 Device:0 Bus:NA Slot:NA Compute:1.1 Driver:19.2 19:27:46:OpenCL Device 1: Platform:1 Device:0 Bus:10 Slot:0 Compute:1.2 Driver:435.21 19:27:46:*********************************************************************** 19:27:46:<config> 19:27:46: <!-- Network --> 19:27:46: <proxy v=':8080'/> 19:27:46: 19:27:46: <!-- User Information --> 19:27:46: <passkey v='********************************'/> 19:27:46: <team v='223518'/> 19:27:46: <user v='freezer2k'/> 19:27:46: 19:27:46: <!-- Folding Slots --> 19:27:46: <slot id='0' type='CPU'> 19:27:46: <cpus v='12'/> 19:27:46: </slot> 19:27:46: <slot id='1' type='GPU'> 19:27:46: <gpu-index v='1'/> 19:27:46: </slot> 19:27:46:</config> 19:27:46:Trying to access database... 19:27:46:Successfully acquired database lock 19:27:46:Enabled folding slot 00: READY cpu:12 19:27:46:Enabled folding slot 01: READY gpu:1:TU104 [GeForce RTX 2080 Super] 19:27:46:WU00:FS00:Starting ...
  7. Hi, Finished the F@H Setup under Ubuntu 19.10 and set everything up with FAHControl. However, once the RTX 2080 Super GPU starts folding, I have severe lagging using the default Ubuntu 19.10 GNOME desktop. It is pretty much unusable. Booting Windows10, there is some lag, but not nearly as bad ... can still watch Youtube videos. Any solution to this? Will try sticking a RX480 in there just for displaying stuff and use the 2080 Super only for CUDA.

I want to use this mainly for folding, maybe some 1080p video editing. I'm not really a gamer, maybe would like to try some VR. Now my initial plan was to get a 2080 Ti in this Setup, but found a great deal on the 2080 Super and it ended up being cheaper to buy two of these vs the single 2080 Ti I ordered initially. Two things on my mind right now: - Is this case big enough or will it overheat? I plan to massively undervolt the GPUs and find a sweetspot for 24x7 folding ... estimating they should not draw more than 120W under load each. - Any issue with the spacing between the GPUs? Should be only about 2cm, a different board+bigger case would allow for more spacing. It would be nice to have NVLink/SLI as well, but this board does not support it ... don't see much of a use-case for myself though. The 2nd slots PCIe x4 bandwidth limit should not affect folding much. Would appreciate some feedback on the build! Anything else I'm forgetting here? Thank you. -freezer
  9. Just bought 2x EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Black Gaming for each 680eur on Amazon. Gonna be putting in that work soon ...
  10. Has this been verified? Found some thread here suggesting it, but who knows if its true
  11. What is the PPD of the RTX 2060? The 2060 KO seems to perform better than all the others?
  12. Did someone already write some email to Joe Rogan (JRE) so he gets people to help on this?
  13. Are we actually doing any folding for COVID-19 already? As it says here they are working like mad to start simulations? :=) https://foldingathome.org/start-folding/
  14. How much more? Does it even make worth CPU folding from a power-costs perspective if a powerful GPU produces 20x more points?
  15. Hi, Has probably been answered here somewhere, but cant find it. For folding Covid-19, is CPU-folding important much? Is it enough to get a powerful GPU for it? And which one would be best?
