You clearly have no grasp of how much it actually costs to bring products to market, especially in small batches.
Perhaps you should educate yourself a little more before spouting disinformation.

It's fine, total system consumption will peak at 500w, My i7 10700KF+RX6900XT never crossed it and runs flawlessly on a TX650M.

They always over shoot the wattage because (specially in the past) people would buy atrociously bad PSU units, so having a large wattage headroom would keep things on the safer side, but the truth is a normal desktop with an i7/i9-r7/r9 and a 6950XT will never draw more wattage than a 650W decent unit can provide.

I personally disagree with the take of going 4070 due their PSU since as pointed it does not matter.

What nVidia had done with with the RTX 3060 Ti/3070/3070 Ti, by limiting their longevity or usefulness for higher res with just 8GB VRAM, they are also doing with the RTX 4070 Ti 12GB. There're a game or two where it's been shown that 12GB is barely enough, even for 1080P or 1440P (I don't remember which). Yes, the VRAM issue can be resolved by reducing or disabling high res texture, but my question is, "why should they?" when the cards are powerful enough to run everything maxed out IF it weren't for VRAM deficit.

The RTX 4070 Ti is a powerful card, same goes with the upcoming RTX 4070, yet nVidia chose to allot just 12GB (their RTX 3060 12GB has that amount of VRAM, same as AMD's previous gen RX 6700XT/6750XT) though the RTX 4070 Ti is much more powerful and deserves more VRAM buffer. I suspect AMD answer to these cards would be the RX 7800 XT, and I'm almost certain it'd have 16GB of VRAM.

Edit - Due to a more sizeable VRAM buffer, the RX 6700 XT/6750 XT/6800/6800 XT/6900 XT would age more gracefully than their competing nVidia counterparts, like honestly, the RTX 3080 Ti 12GB really ought to be armed with more VRAM. The RTX 3080 10GB is beginning to show its weakness, NOT its sheer processing prowess, but the kneecapping of its potential performance through a shortfall of VRAM buffer. All part of nVidia's early obsolescence masterplan....

This is exactly what Nvidia wanted. They need a reason for people to spend thousands of dollars on 4080's and 4090's.

Meanwhile 6800's on ebay are about $400 and get you to a nice, 16GB buffer.

For $700, I'd agree with you, go for that.

If you want to spend a little more though, the old 5K LG Ultrafine would give you more screen real estate if you don't use scaling while still retaining the 1 cord I/O. That said, non-scaled 5K at 27" means everything's going to be pretty small...

Also, just be weary that MacOS will foolishly default a 4K screen to 1080p scaling, so everything is going to look STUPID ENORMOUS. at 40+ inches, it's best to turn scaling off completely so it doesn't make UI elements huge and rob you of the screen real estate you're looking for.

I use SwitchResX to do that on my monitors.

I have a few monitors that I like to use for different things. My office computer (MacBook Pro 2015) is on an NEC EA271Q-BK https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1435874-REG/nec_ea271q_bk_sv_27_wqhd_desktop_monitor.html Color is solid, and I have a PC hooked up with HDMI, while the macbook is on the Minidisplay-to-Displayport cable. Backlight is very even, and the resolution scaling works perfect for MacOS.

On my cart which I take on location with me for shoots, I have the 24" LG Ultrafine 4K they sell off the Apple website or the mac store. This monitor used Thunderbolt, so you'll need an adapter to work with your macbook if it's not a 2016+ model. This monitor is A M A Z I N G. It's 500 nits, does P3, and for a newer mac, only requires one cable. Sadly, you're not going to get it to play nice with a PC if you use Windows at all.

At home I have an LG 27" IPS 1080P 144Hz monitor that's OKAY at best. Really I just use it for games and to watch movies from my bed. MacOS looks like garbage on it because of scaling on a monitor that big and at such low of resolution.

LTT hasn't make an iPhone review in years because honestly it's getting real boring in the mobile space. Every year is an iterative increment in performance. Sure you can spend 30minutes comparing performances between different fabs and chips but end of the day LTT's targetted audience or Linus himself are just using phones as a tool and they work just fine. LTT staff likes to tinker stuff and there's nothing much to tinker when it comes to phones.

    If you're going to get a 4070Ti, you're just a complete idiot.

If you're going to get a 4080, why not spend a couple hundo more and just get the 4090, you can afford it.

A 2019 MacBook Pro is nearly 4 years old at this point, and they were plagued with issues. The most notable issue was the butterfly keyboard (unless it's a 16" MBP), and that alone is a good reason to upgrade.

@Dk SPYder Can you clarify what exactly he does with this computer? Is there any specific reason the 2019 MBP isn't meeting his needs (butterfly keyboard issues come to mind)?
