  1. i bought one and it didn't do anything
  2. thank you so much for clearing that up!
  3. For the life of me I can't get my headset to work with my pc that I built myself. I know it's designed for consoles as it only has a 3.5mm jack but I used to use it on my laptop that had a mic/headphone combo jack and it worked fine. I also used to use it on my parents prebuilt pc that had a combo jack and it worked fine. On the pc I built myself it has separate headphone and mic inputs at the front and back. I can hear audio through my headset but when I plug in the jack into the mic input, the mic is not being picked up (I tried both front and back ports). I bought one of those splitter things where you plug the headset into the 3.5mm jack and it splits off into mic and headphone jacks, but I don't think it's compatible with my headset as it doesn't seem to go in all the way. Now I'm considering buying a USB microphone so I can talk on discord on my pc instead of using my phone, while at the same time listen to the game through my headset instead of using speakers. The microphone I was going to try is the Fifine 669B. I don't know if it's a driver issue, I spent a long time playing with different settings to no result. 4. I have an asrock b450 pro4 matx motherboard and it's got an ultra m.2 (PCIe gen3 x4) and an m.2 sata 3 slot. Currently I have a 240gb western digital green insterted in the sata 3 m.2 slot but I need more storage as I'm still at uni. I didn't put my current ssd into the ultra m.2 slot because I thought only nvme ssd's could go in there, but having done some research I found out that "ultra m.2" is just asrock's marketing or something. So can I get away with just buying a normal sata 3 m.2 ssd and putting it into the ultra m.2 slot? It's my first time owning an ssd so I couldn't care less about having nvme speeds. I also don't want to get 2.5" ssd's since my cable management is shoddy and I don't need more cables to fuel this. This is the ssd I was planning on getting: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-WDS500G2B0B-Blue-Internal/dp/B073SBX6TY?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1 My motherboard: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M Pro4/#Specification
  5. I'm not too sure what drivers I need. I checked the bios version of my motherboard and it was already the latest version when I got it (P.390). I don't know if I need to go to another website to get audio drivers or anything cause I don't see anything for my motherboard that relates to audio on asrock's website.
  6. I built my first pc last thursday and am having a few small issues. One of them being that the front panel headphone and microphone jack aren't working. When I plug in my headset into the headphone jack, it doesn't recognize anything to be there and just plays the sound through my monitor which is connected to my GTX 1650 via displayport. When I plug in my headset into the microphone jack, I can hear a crackle as I insert it and for some reason it says "headphones (high definition audio)", but I don't hear any sound through my headset or my monitor. I then tried the back speaker out port (green), which wasn't working until I ran the troubleshooter and restarted my pc. So I have audio coming from the back port but I want to use my headset as an actual headset (sound + mic). I also tried plugging them into the microphone jack at the back and again I hear a crackle when I plug it in, but this time it just plays the audio out from the monitor speakers. However, I tried testing the microphone on my headset using the back mic port and windows doesn't seen to recognize it so no audio going in. Theres also a blue port at the back and I tried that too but I don't know what it does, but still no sound. The headset works fine, I tried it in my dads prebuilt pc and it's absolutely fine. This makes me wonder if I put the front panel HD Audio cable the wrong way round maybe? I hope this makes sense, help would be greatly appreciated.
