Razer Huntsman with the Purple switches. They have an optical activation instead of the conductivity of wires, I noticed a ~2-4 wpm improvement from a non-optical keyboard.. might be margin of error but I quite like the keyboard. I've also found that Razer Synapse has been my favorite between Corsair's iCue and Logitech's G Hub, it syncs with Philips Hue lights and I like the interface.

I would recommend building your own computer to be quite honest, plus this build I put together has 3rd gen ryzen and a better case, power supply, and more ram. It's $50 more than that prebuilt and you can learn new skills while building this. Linus also has a ton of build guides so it should be relatively straight forward. If you're going to keep the AIO I would get Noctua fans although best case scenario would be a Noctua or Be Quiet! air cooler.

If you go full custom loop you can get better numbers because you're usually using more than one radiator. I also don't trust AIOs anymore because I had one that died on me after about 8 months of use. I'm on an NH-D15S Chromax and I'm in love. Quieter and better temps.

Not really. They didn't even test the NH-D15S in this video... which is better than what was used.

Go for a Noctua NH-D15 or custom water cooling with more radiators.

Paste was cleaned with cotton pads and rubbing alcohol before applying pad and new cooler Also check Linus's video on thermal pads about 2 years ago, they determined pads are about as good. None of my problems are thermal related right now.

PARTSLIST* *Before motherboard BIOS was reset the ram clocks were fixed to a point where the different speed kits worked with eachother. My Corsair H100i Platinum recently stopped pumping water and made a high pitched noise. This happened after I installed my HP 10Gb SFP+ NIC and had the system on it's side to install it. When I turned my PC on it made it to Windows before I knew my cooler was truly dead. My system started thermal throttling and hit 0.5 GHz and 90 degrees C. I did NOT turn my system back on after it's thermal shut down and waited until I had a new cooler. I went to Microcenter and bought a Noctua NH-D15S Chromax and installed it with an IC Graphite Thermal Pad. The system blue screens very frequently and if I'm playing Rainbow Six: Siege there's very frequent game crashes and they all crash in the same fashion. After about a day of troubleshooting I've narrowed it down to memory issues *OR* potential CPU issues. After essentially rebuilding this computer re-seating everything and changing things and resetting the BIOS, the blue screen crashes are less frequent but still happening occasionally. I have the Corsair RAM removed and crashes have cut down to one every few hours... ish. Attached will be an image of what windows version and build I'm on, which I've heard had some memory issues. My theory is that the cooler spectacularly failing may have caused damage to my 2700x and the memory controller part of the CPU might not be functioning correctly. Please help... I've spend over 24 total hours on this and my mind is fried. EDIT: Network card has been removed, crashes continue.

The CPU is a great choice right now, but Ryzen 4000 series is coming around this year (hopefully) so you can either get the 3600 for cheaper or a new 4000. If you're buying this around after school time you'd be looking at a B550 motherboard since those are coming out in the next month-ish. Storage is decent but I'd recommend the WD SN750 because it's still NVMe and I got mine for USD$90 and have 500gb. The hard drive is still a decent choice. For graphics for around $300 I'd recommend a 2060 KO or trying to find a 1080 Ti on ebay, which are going for USD$350 right now. Noctua fans are always a good choice though.

Is there any way to swap the fans for different ones from Noctua? What brands do you recommend?

I was thinking FreeNAS.

I mean... I don't fully know what to expect. Ideally I could play some games off of the NAS so I wouldn't have to transfer from the NAS to my PC to play the game. EDIT: I'm planning on using Raid 5 or 6

My backup plan is going Synology, probably their 4-6 bay desktop NAS. I'd like to get around 300-400 mbps on the drives. I'm going to have a Ubiquiti switch with two 10G SFP+ ports. One for the NAS and the other for my PC.

I want to build a medium-capacity NAS with room to upgrade the storage in the future. I want to *try* to spend about US$400-500 before drives. I'm not to knowledgeable on Xeon processors and their compatible motherboards, but I'd like to have a lower power one to save on my power bill. I plan to start out with 4x 4TB or 6TB WD Red Pro drives (drive recommendations also welcome), and slowly add 4 at a time until I fill up a 24 drive enclosure. HERE is a post to an ebay listing of a server I'm considering. I'll also need a raid card for redundancy. I don't know what type of raid I will be going for yet but I'd like 1-2 drive failures without losing data. My main use of this would be cold storage for my games, video files (not a ton right now) and a Plex server for movies.
