    Aright guys, so I'm home!

Tests came back mostly fine, have to take these meds and see how I do over the next few days. Can't drink! What the hell kinda advice is that! I need to take it easy and the like, but that means I can still run the event! Not allowed to drink, exercise, put strain on my body in any way, gotta stay chill essentially.

So this means that the event will go ahead, things should be fine to run, though daily blogs may be delayed or missed. But please, don't worry, we are tracking the stats regardless. I will be posting the list for everyone to check on today on a blog update.

please do not message me asking if you are signed up, or asking me to check on if you spelled anything right. You will simply be ignored.

    Update!

I'm currently on my way to the hospital, let's hope this gets dealt with quickly. In the mean time systems are folding full tilt

I'm currently dealing with a sudden moderate-severe medical issue, so my availability will be reduced for the next couple days... Please continue to fold as normal and be lovely to one another.

    Happy folding,

I'm really impressed with the power efficiency of Zen 2. It is quite a bit ahead on performance, yes, but I'm more awed by the performance/watt comparison.

Running it with a package power limit of 50W means I can leave it running all day. Even with just 30W going to the CPU(the rest goes to the memory controller and SoC), it clocks at ~3.5Ghz on all 6 cores and 12 threads. On my Ivy Bridge i5, I had to set it at a meager 2.4-2.5Ghz to get the same power draw! The overall power efficiency of this platform is so much better, I get 3x the work done for the same power costs, and this is with just a lowly-binned Ryzen 5 chip.

Alright you crazy lot, looking to dump 16 threads on a BOINC project, I'm looking to have the highest points yield and I'm indifferent to what the cause is.

Anyone know how we enter WCG Teams challenges? Does the team leader have to do it? Maybe we need to address the whole issue of the team leader not being active here anymore and get them moved to @Ithanul

You will surpass alex_kramer. De-throne the bastard! He's been #1 for >1 year. Time for a new #1!

Someday I will be #1. It will be a long time before it comes but I will make it happen.

My BOINCstats for WCG more accurately reflect my CPU compute time. Currently looking at 54.4K/PPD. This should hold true 24/7. My desktop will run some days and not others so I'll contribute more or less depending on the day.

I was very disappointed about that. I could have had >20M BOINC points already and I could have contributed to OpenPandemics on day 1 of release but I set it aside for the sake of our team. Did we get any shout-out for placing 6th? That's so much better than we did last year.

Sweet, only going to take less than 50 days 🙂

Congrats to all that joined in for the BOINC Pent.

Last year the team gained 10th overall.  This year the team work to 6th place overall, along with getting Bronze, 3rd place, in the Marathon.

Now, I just need to setup a sign up sheet for that prize draw.

Temperature are getting higher, its getting a bit uncomfortable to have everything running full time.
While in winter its nice, allow for "free" heating.

You know what I'd like to see? LTT hold their own BOINC events even if all we do is compete against each other. I'd partake just for the fun of it. Kind of lame that there's only one major event that everyone here gets involved in a year.

Ive thought about various true workstation PC's in the past because I f'n love PC hardware, but everything I truly do (lots of gaming, occasional but rare renders in premiere, photoshop) is perfectly done with a 9900k right now.  I really would love a reason to buy a 3960x machine, or even 3950x, but I just dont have a good argument to put the money there rather than into GPU moneys.

Respect for all you hardcore guys with all those CPU cores that held it down for the event, I just cant hang!

Good job all! I did a set and forget on the marathon and lightly followed along, but it did looks like a lot of good fun! I'm looking forward to participating more next time.

I must admit 20MPPD on F@H sounds a lot better than 220,000PPD on NumberFields.

Switched all my CPU threads over to OpenPandemic on WCG for a change of pace once I swapped memory about and cleaned dust filters.

Thank you to everyone that participated in this fun event. We got from 10th to 6th! It was my 1st time using BOINC and participating in a BOINC event. It was definitely challenging trying to make sure all my servers are on the right project. It definitely did some damage on my wallet but it was for a good cause. Hopefully next year will go smoother and run more efficiently.

I believe that my last WU has been submitted . I have two threads left running, but they are at 4 hours still, so we'll see. Pleasure BOINC(ing)? with you guys. Does anyone know when there is going to be another BOINC / FAH event?

What I noticed was I Aborted tasks that were more than 2 hours over the end time and the remaining jobs all started processing faster as the CPUs were able to boost higher.
