Do yourself a favour and do a fresh install of Windows. While it can tolerate things like this, it can sometimes have unexpected results and bugs.

I've done it without reinstalling windows, but sooner or later I did a complete reinstall.
It is always best to go with fresh installation with hardware updates on those occasions. It seems there are a quite a few difference that makes windows unstable.

Don't get that Rosewill arc PSU.  Some of the Rosewill units FSP makes are good, but that one isn't.  Either of these would be a far better purchase:

Deepcool DQ750-M-V2L 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (DP-GD-DQ750-M-V2L) - PCPartPicker
Super Flower Legion GX Pro 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (SF- 650P14XE) - PCPartPicker

The complaint on cultists network about the early DQ750 should be resolved by now.  Any new units should be totally fine on 100v, so it should be an a-tier PSU.

If you can cancel or return that PSU, I would.  The Deepcool one I listed is on a $55 off promo code that ends today, and the superflower one is on a $5 off promo code that also ends today.

If OP lives near a microcenter, the 5600 is $120 instore, and they have b450 boards with onboard wifi for $70, and they'll discount $20 for bundling in store, so you could walk out with a hyper threaded 6-core fast enough for any GPU with a wifi board for $170.

I.e. your GPU will be running at PCIe4 x8.
Check if someone did performance comparison at PCIe4 x8 / x16 with the GPU you're after.
    VRAM amount doesn't matter.

If it is indeed Hynix 8Gb MFR, you might just be hitting the limits of your sticks. You might be able to get it a bit faster with a good OC, but it seems not many people push it past 3200. https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4 OC Guide.md

No, the iGPU handles Quick Sync. A "K" suffix CPU would have it though.

I would make the front ones intake and all three others exhaust. I would set the fan curve for the fronts to be more aggressive than the exhaust fan curves so that you are nearly balanced or more on the negative pressure side.

What about your PSU fan? Is that taking air from the bottom of the case or pulling from that grate? That changes things a little bit.

There are more good boards than not so good boards. Look on the used market near you for a P67, Z68, or Z77 board (assuming you want to overclock, which you really want to do with a 3770K), see what's available, and just double check before making sure. If there's one thing about board prices that are consistent is that they aren't consistent, so a Maximus IV Gene near me might cost ~$50, yet near you that board might cost $200+ or vice versa.

Keep in mind that a "golden" XOC chip doesn't always perform best under ambient temps anyways... It really isn't a linear scale of best to worst, so the SP score is unlikely to get you a "golden" chip for your specific use case anyways.

The SP info of a processor does not seem to be a reliable metric, there has been cases where simply reseating the CPU can change it substantially.

Unethical to return it, at best. Not a lot of benefit to be had either way, unless you're planning on XOC.

svmlegacy got a reaction from Dedayog in Would a discrete GPU improve the performance of a CPU with integrated graphics?
It won't help the CPU in the slightest. Your 2500 is not going to die anytime soon, and it certainly isn't a chip that power throttles.
  24. Agree
svmlegacy reacted to Kilrah in Would a discrete GPU improve the performance of a CPU with integrated graphics?
This old GPU is likely not going to bring anything that matters in that use case and as mentioned the CPU couldn't care less about the iGPU being used or not... The main difference you would see is more available RAM since the iGPU won't be taking some, but that's at the cost of higher power consumption.

svmlegacy reacted to BobVonBob in Would a discrete GPU improve the performance of a CPU with integrated graphics?
It might make the CPU a bit cooler, and it's definitely more capable than the dumpster fire of an iGPU in the i5-2500, but I doubt it's going to make the computer last longer. CPUs are almost never the thing that dies. Usually it's the PSU, the motherboard, the storage, the RAM, or really anything other than the CPU. That's why old CPUs get so cheap, but the motherboards don't drop nearly as much. There's tons of old working CPUs, and not enough old working motherboards.

I used to volunteer at a computer refurbishing charity, and they had drawers full of Core 2 Quad and early Core i processors that they couldn't do anything with because there weren't enough motherboards to go around.

Basically, don't worry about the CPU. It's probably going to outlive everything else in that computer.
