So should i go for a 1660ti and a 144hz laptop cause i heard the 1660 are desktop if their not max-q

I am looking for a laptop that is fairly priced (around $1500 USD) with a 2060 and a 240hz display. This is for when im out of town gaming. I like around a 15 inch screen and intel cpus because of reliability and not using a chiplet design for lower latency.

I am looking for a good laptop that I can bring to school and look not like a gaming laptop because most of my friends aren’t gamers or play on console. What is something that looks nice but performs very highly. Budget is not an issue right now but want to see what my options could be.

I would do that because I dont want a motherboard with 2.5gb lan because with windows 1709 that I use the drivers dont work.

I'm looking to buy a used 8086k that i delid and un spectre and meltdown patch for slightly better fps and lower temps. What motherboard should I get? I was thinking either the EVGA z390 Dark or the ASUS Apex XI. The ram might be the G Skill 3766 cl14 2x8gb. Cooler will be Arctic Freezer 360 AIO so i can cool the VRMs also. My gpu will either be 1080ti or 2080ti that I repaste and shunt mod for higher performance. Can anyone find an ASUS Apex XI because none can be found for me. Also case will be the Lian LI Lancool 2 Mesh when it comes out. Does anyone have any other suggestions for max performance while also trying to not spend extra money on a new cpu that I cant mod as easily?

After running cinebench r20 which felt like waiting for christ to return he has 600 point and it never went past 0.55 ghz at 43.5c

Really? My 2600x stays at 4 ghz at its lowest. Also when he does something with his cpu it stays the same.

Hi everyone, I am helping my friend with his new pc because he is not getting the performance expected at all. I went into task manager and noticed that he was running at 0.54 ghz. This made me think a possible thermal throttle but when i checked he's running at 35-40c which i know is high but think that it is only there because it is thermal throttling. He said that he didn't touch the thermal paste on the bottom of his stock cooler but i can't be sure. The other option I have is a bent pin on the cpu. Does anyone think these could be possible answers or is there anything im missing?

After overclocking my 2600x on an asrock b450m pro4 ive noticed that when setting it at 4.1ghz it said 4.05ghz as the actual speed. To get 4.1 i had to set my cpu clock to 4.15. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this and make it run at the full speed i set or is this a known issue?

what should i treat it like? hynix memory and a different kind of samsung. Sorry if i sound ignorant i dont know much about ram overclocking.

So even if it is b-die its the bad b-die and doesnt have much room to overclock?

I have tried this and can never post with it. Any suggestions?
