  1. From Australian Federal Police: There's also the Cybercrime Act 2001.
  2. I believe they added the ability to kill the anti-cheat if you're not running Valorant. You'll need to enable it again to play Valorant though. But to answer OP's question, in general, the anti-cheat is still considered intrusive since it's kernel level. Ars Technica did a run down of Valoran's anti-cheat system and how it works.
  3. I have 3 CS:GO servers (on SourceMod) and a LAMP server (web) running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Is it worth the upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS? Just afraid that the troubles the upgrades might cause is not worth the improvements from the upgrade itself.
  4. I play a ton of CS:GO and have been playing since 2013, currently at SMFC.
  5. For RAM, 2400Mhz is slow for DDR4, you're better off buying higher speed RAM than overclocking it. What GPU do you have?
  6. I believe Ethernet ports transmit data and not electricity so no.
  7. Did you get it in PU leather or fabric? Do you also have carpet flooring? If so, consider getting a plastic mat to place over the carpet to help with static.
  8. Hello. I'm looking to build a photo editing rig that outputs to dual 4k monitors. Currently, I am looking at Ryzen 7 for the CPU and RTX 2080 Ti for the GPU. I also need at least 64GB of RAM. Liquid cooled would be great too. I don't necessarily have a budget, but would like to know what's the most best price to performance editing rig I could build. Thanks!
  9. Lenovo French Laptop ThinkPad A485 (20MU000VCA)
  10. Do you have another PC you can test that USB adapter on? It might be bad.
  11. Hm, that's odd. Could you check the Realtek Gaming GbE Family Controller? It sounds like the ports on your motherboard might be interfering with your network adapter, which is odd. What PSU do you have? It might not be sufficient for your GPU.
  12. Do you really need to be at 90hz and 2k resolution? If you can decrease your refresh rate and resolution, you should see longer SOT. Also, Facebook is known to be a huge battery drain, so if you don't require it, you should disable it. Messenger still works without the Facebook app enabled.
  13. Corrected the OP, thanks! Note that even if you don't have a student email, as long as you can verify you are a full-time student over 16 years old, you will have access to Student Beans.
  14. Actually, I believe chargers stop charging when the battery is 100%, and the laptop will run off direct power instead at 100% and plugged in.
  15. Leaving the battery at 100% capacity will decrease its lifespan, but running it through repeated discharge and recharge cycles will also decrease its lifespan. Basically, whatever you do, your battery will wear down and lose capacity, that's just the drawback of lithium ion batteries right now.
  16. Malwarebytes has a long-running deal whereby if you donate $5 to help students get access to technology, you'll receive 4 years of Malwarebytes Premium. Unfortunately, a Student Beans account is required. Otherwise, it's a super good deal. Landing Page Direct Link (Student Beans) Enjoy!
  17. It could either be: Your laptop battery isn't calibrated properly. You can calibrate it by draining the battery to 0%, then fully charging it back to 100% again before turning it on. The battery capacity chip in your battery is faulty and reading wrong. The life of lithium ion batteries aren't known to last very long unfortunately.
  18. I wouldn't do it, no matter what system I'm running as it may affect your game play and/or your folding, unless I have a second GPU to fold with.
  19. These names are basically AMD's naming convention for their CPU generations; see this.
  20. Have you had a look at Herman Miller chairs? They are widely regarded as the best office chairs money can buy.
  21. Does this happen when it's under load or does it just jump periodically?
