  1. Excellent input! Thank you for the thorough contribution I will take all of this into consideration for my purchase. FYI I got the 1050Ti for about ~200 USD 2yrs ago. Recently looked at its price... and damn, well about fell over. Any remedial upgrade would blow my budget. But that's the game we are all playing now a days....
  2. Oh I have the 5600x and the 1050Ti GPU (all i am willing to carry forward ) if the hardware will be better than what i have for OC the i7 2600K ( get instability over 4.0Ghz; not sure where the problem is.) I will entertain OC'ing the 5600X if possible with current purchase specs.
  3. Thank you for the input. Unfortunately, maybe it is the way i worded it but i already have a 5600x in my possession. Hence the choice of motherboard and minimum memory of 3600Mhz. Not going to be a stickler on storage due to the fact it is very dynamic and easy to append to. Definately agree with an upgrade on the HDD o fa high stable capacity of long term storage. I would like your opinion on cpu cooler on the 5600x since i have opted out on providing that information. Frankly overwhelmed on the options / efficiencies of them for the system.
  4. Understand the storage concern. I should reveal i have 870 1TB SSD that i will be incorporating from my existing build as well as the archaic mechanical drive with ~512GB. I have been tempted to roll over my power supply but feel that is not a wise choice.
  5. For the time being i am "comfortable" with my current GPU (1050Ti). No intentions of using iGPU unless S#$% hits the fan and i have not other option to use for display.
  6. Budget (including currency): Less than 1500 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, Video Editing, Folding@Home, Lite Streaming, Geo Spatial Processing, Rastar Imaging processing / manipulation Other details Upgrading from system build over 10yrs ago. Specs found in my profile. i7 2600K should say enough.... have a 1050Ti for the time being until chaos settles. This this my current shopping list. Looking for constructive feedback. Not sure what i have overlooked in critical needs / form factors. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Qt8CYg Appreciate any input the community can provide. Been sitting on 5600X too long to not pull the trigger on the rest of these items. PS. I believe the mother board i pick can have the BIOS updated without older gen CPU seated. (Need input on this). Other items i have left out such as CPU cooler requires recommendations based on the current form factor of case and mother board selected. Otherwise please suggest alternative products for a better environment. Thank you all for you time and input i greatly appreciate any input you have.
  7. That's the location to the entrance of area 51. Don't let anyone else know.
  8. maybe this article helps? https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/afterburner-settings-backup.318723/
  9. @GOTSpectrum Einstein@Home seems to yield well. But that is based on what i am able to crunch at the time. Also any one been able to get WU from the LHC project? latest news implies its functioning but not able to pull WU.
  10. @ssmmdd Thank you for the validation efforts. Here's a 20 to slip me a couple more points .
  11. Congratulations all! Well done, you have persevered the gauntlet of the summer sprint. Lets all crack open a cold one and bask in the glory of the finish line.
  12. With the discussions of advance configs and what not. I started to wonder is there a way to specify what server you get WU from? Is it all a pool system, or a parent child reconciliation when the parent gets low? I figured with the ability to see server stats and up times with available WU that specifying a know source would fix these idle distribution of WU to clients waiting for WU. Bought to you by ... Jake not from state farm. (answers to my questions did not jump out in the video linked.)
