  1. What's the difference between 21.04 and 20.04.3 LTS? I'm trying to create my own personal web server with a raspberry pi 4 and trying to figure out which one to use. Thanks in advance.
  2. I am actually getting back into programming just for fun as a hobby. I downloaded and opened up Notepad++. Went to Languages option on the menu and saw a whole lot of them. Some I have heard of and some not. Currently trying to learn Python since it seems like the main language currently. Two decades ago I remembered at my highschool I learned Pascal and then at a technical college I learned C++, Visual Basic and Javascript. Now my question to all you developers out there is what is the point of having all these languages? Why not have 1 universal language and phase the other ones out or just stick with a previous one and not create new languages? I can understand a few exceptions maybe like Javascript is for the internet and websites and something like SQL is for databases but even with that why not make something like C++ or even Python compatible with web developing since their selectors, properties, values/variables, declarations are similar anyway. If I sound ignorant I apologize. Just trying to figure out the logic behind all this. I feel like there is no point in relearning C++ if Python is the main thing now.
  3. For the Pi 4, would the 4gb ram version be more than enough? Also decided to go with Ubuntu for the Pi 4. Once again appreciate everyone's post on this.
  4. Appreciate all the feedback from everyone. I currently have a Pi 3b I'm using inside an arcade machine. I am considering also getting a Pi4 or maybe one of those old DELL/HP servers. idk.
  5. For creating my own website. I was thinking maybe if possible also to have my own email server instead of using gmail.
  6. Budget (including currency): $300 Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Apache HTTP server, Microsoft Exchange(maybe). Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Currently I have a few spare things. Asus laptop ( Intel i5-7200U 2.5Ghz, 8GB DDR4, 1TB HD). If not the laptop, I can try to build something for cheap off of an AMD FX4300 or FX6300. Also have a 10 yr old Cooler Master 1000w PSU. If none of these work, any suggestion within my budget would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  7. I think of gaming computers like basketball sneakers or cars. Having the best top of the line expensive gear isn't going to make you a better gamer. Yes it will increase the frames but it's not going to make your aim better when you're playing an FPS or your strategy better when you're playing a MOBA.  If I get sneakers from Walmart or Target as compared to getting $100+ Air Jordans, am I going to be better at basketball? If I get a Bugatti instead of a Nissan Skyline, will that make me a better street racer? Sure for some games you're going to have to upgrade to at least the minimum or recommended specs but that should be it (My i7 3770k and GTX 670 were surprisingly able to run Apex Legends on low settings). Always keep in mind that it's about skill, not what you are using. Just my two cents.

  8. I have only used PC partpicker one time and everything that came up for me was Amazon or New Egg.
  9. I honestly have never heard of B&H. I will check this out.
  10. It shouldn't matter if it is coming from a larger or smaller tech youtuber. As long as the review itself is good. When I want to check out a product before buying it, I go on Google, Amazon, and Youtube to get some feedback. I actually have heard literally NO bad reviews of Arctic from the videos that I have seen. Hence why I currently have the Arctic Freezer 34 esport Duo. Best bang for you buck as far as air coolers and dare I say that it even surpasses a lot of the more expensive AIO liquid ones.
  11. Wanted to get an idea of where everyone is going and if you want state why you chose those places/websites.
  12. Whoever put that red banner notification on top of this site is a pure genius.
  13. Watching Daigo's skill and personality got me into Fighting Games. Watching Tokido's skill and personality kept me in it.
  14. I didn't know if I should start my own thread on this but I wanted to check if these BIOS settings are correct if I just want to OC my 2600x to 4.0GHz. My motherboard is a MSI B450 Tomahawk and RAM is Geil EVO Potenza 2xGB DDR4 3000mhz. CPU cooler is Arctic Freezer 34 esports DUO. I've seen several videos on this but trying to make sure I'm doing it correct. This is a huge upgrade from my old system. OC Explore Mode - Expert CPU Ratio - 40.00 A-XMP - Profile 1 DRAM Frequency - DDR4 - 3000 CPU Core Voltage - 1.3000 v DRAM Voltage - 1.350 v If there's any corrections or anything else I need to change in the BIOS, let me know. Thanks.
