Elements6007 reacted to Mark Kaine in cpu is stuck 100% (i5-2400)
January 2011
Not that old! 32nm, on par with CELL, which is still fast today!
Good idea though, might be the infamous "windows 1 minute boot load" phenomenon. (thats my guess actually )

Elements6007 reacted to GreatnessRD in is this an ok build? Are there any incompatibilites?
Why are you buying a $500 motherboard? What do you plan to do with your build? If you're just gaming, the 5600G MIGHT make more sense as well. Everything else looks fine, imo. Depending on what GPU you plan to pair with it, 650W PSU might save you even more money. But I have that power supply and it works very well, no complaints.

Elements6007 reacted to IkeaGnome in Should I upgrade?
This sounds like a reason to not upgrade.
There's no reason to upgrade something that does what you want it to just because other people think you should. If that makes sense. Unless you want to spend the money.

Elements6007 reacted to Canadian Sandman in R.O.K. in Thread for Linus Tech Tips Video Suggestions
Just had a thought regarding the WAN Show. I really enjoy it tremendously and the relationship between Luke and Linus. However, I'd love to see perhaps once a month Linus co-host with a different member of LMG. It would be nice to see the variety it would bring and could be a cool way to also bring new staff/faces into the mix. Honestly, I thought of this when Linus was reading notes Anthony had left on different topics, so I think it could be fun to see Linus bouncing ideas off of Yvonne, Anthony, Madison, Jonathon from MAC Address, and so on. Even staffers who are interested, but maybe are not usually in front of the camera. I think once a month would be enough and still preserve the Linus/Luke dynamic that we love so much.

Elements6007 reacted to minibois in Which SSD model is SLC?
Basically none of the current consumer SSD's are fully SLC. They may have an SLC cache, but most will be TLC or QLC.
You would have to look into enterprise grade gear for a full SLC option.

Elements6007 reacted to Haro in No Display on Monitor! GPU Upgrade
It's alot but that's not the case
Most thermal paste isn't conductive and "alot" of thermal paste won't brick a gpu

Elements6007 reacted to Lurick in Potential cable melting?
Nope, it's not sitting on any component that's going to get that hot so you're fine.

Elements6007 reacted to SansVarnic in Is it safe to sell PC parts?
@LOD_ismynightmare it is always the best idea to sell parts at their default settings.
-
Elements6007 reacted to TetraSky in Is it safe to sell PC parts?
I would suggest doing so, that way the one who buys it won't have your settings, which may not work right with the rest of their hardware... And in turn makes them believe the hardware is faulty.
If you do not have the socket cover for the motherboard, I hope you're selling the CPU and motherboard as a whole and not removing the CPU from the motherboard.

Elements6007 reacted to Obi1oh1 in New pc build, no post, no error beeps.
Turns out I'm a dumb... in my defense though none of the cables said cpu (not a very good excuse I know). I just wasn't powering the cpu... at all... it posts now, no errors. Thank you all so much. Hopefully I don't screw anything up when i move it to the case now.

Elements6007 reacted to Obi1oh1 in New pc build, no post, no error beeps.
New build here, 9700k, Asus maximus HERO XI, rtx 2070 super, 2x16 3600mhz corsair ddr4, be quiet dark rock 4, Samsung 970 evo, 2TB Seagate barracuda and a Silverstone st65f-gs 650w psu. Installed all the components, on the mobo box to test and it all powers up, cpu fan, lights and all; no post, no beeps. I do have this hooked up to my tv (I dont have a monitor yet [trying to find a decent 1440p 144hz monitor]). I tried using system builder to see if they weren't compatible, but they dont show my psu. I can post pictures if needed or if someone wants to face time please let me know.
