  1. 3840x1200 I have an ultra wide monitor. The 5700xt preforms quite good and I have no complaints at the resolution
  2. Budget: +- $1000 Country: South Africa, I can source most components locally though so this is not an issue Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: With regards to gaming I only ever play triple A games and basically no competitive games. More fps is always appreciated but is not the be all and end all for me. I mainly use my system for productivity, coding, I run virtual machines quite often and sometimes even multiple ones at the same time. Some video editing too from time to time. Other details Other specs: 650W 80+ Gold psu MSI Gaming X RX 5700XT MSI Gaming pro carbon x370 Samsung 970 Evo plus 1TB ssd (boot drive) G Skill TridentZ 3000Mhz 32GB (8GBx4) Why I want to upgrade: Chipset is getting old and my motherboard does not support PCIe gen 4 but my gpu does. Newer amd cpus offer much better performance in gaming and productivity. What CPU and motherboard would you suggest I upgrade to? Or should I hold off and wait for prices to stabilize and see what future products emerge?
  3. I wanted to try out some of the RTX features, but I suppose ray tracing is not even that good yet. So I will just pick up the 5700XT
  4. Hello! I'm in a strange situation, I need a new GPU as I recently got a Lenovo legion y44w-10 ultra-wide and my GTX 1060 6GB simply wont do any longer. I would like to go with a RTX 2070 however here is the issue. In my country the RTX 2070 is currently almost $200 more than a 5700XT (Msi Rx 5700 Xt Gaming X 8G). I really want to go an Nvidia card so I convince myself that an RTX 2060 / RTX 2060 supper would do just fine. I go to check prices and they are also more expensive than the 5700TX!? And by $100 average too. The best I could find was an RTX 2060 (non-super) for the same cost as the 5700XT. Usually because of the unreasonable GPU prices I get locally I ship from the US, but as our currency has plummeted in value and shipping costs increased it is no longer feasible. Should I just get the 5700XT as it seems to be a good card and its value is close to msrp?
  5. Definitely the CPU, from there you will have much more flexible GPU upgrade options in the future.
  6. Ahhh I see, alright so the 2070 would then be the better option
  7. Hello, I just got the lenovo Legion Y44w-10 but I currently have a gtx1060 6GB. I'm pretty sure that it will struggle driving the monitor. I have been doing some digging in a few other forms and it seems like a RTX2070 is the way to go, but I was wondering as the monitor supports freesync, would it be better to go with an RX 5700 XT instead? Thanks!
