  1. Hi everyone, Hope this is the correct board to post this in. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad E490 (i7-8565U/RX550), and for I've had thermal issues for a while now. I went ahead and bought a cooling pad (CoolerMaster L2) and started using TPFanControl/ThrottleStop. It helped for awhile, but now for some unknown and super weird reason (maybe 2004 update?), the computer is HEAVILY thermal throttling, even with decent gaming temperatures? (the "THERMAL" sign beneath "Core" and "GPU" was flashing red, just accidentally caught it while yellow) As you can see, CPU temp was averaging around ~57c (max ~64c), and the GPU temp was averaging at ~54-59c all game long. The drops were constant, and heavy (around 200-300MHz). It was a pain to (try) game like this. While I'm not 100% positive that I have the optimal settings in ThrottleStop (or anywhere else, to be exact), I never had this issue with such low temps. Up until recently it only throttled around ~75c. What could be the cause? Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the quick replies people! Good to know that things are acting normal. The numbers I mentioned above are taken from the Advanced Control app, main PC's actually sitting on ~622,000 PPD right now. Appreciate the feedback!
  3. Hey everyone, Back on the Folding wagon after years I (totally idiotically) forgot about it. Harnessed my kinda-newly-built 3700X/RX590 system, and my work laptop (i7-7700HQ/940MX) for the job. Apart from having lots of issues getting WUs ("No WUs available for this configuration" error -- always gets stuck @ download, needs to pause and restart client to maybe get it back to work), when both systems fully work I seem to be getting a kinda-low Total Est. PPD, I think? Main PC gets around ~680,000 PPD, laptop gets around ~59,000 PPD. Does this seem correct? I'm literally folding for about 2 weeks (trying 24/7, but again, I need to restart client once in a while to try and get WUs. If I don't, it enters this DL attempts loop which getting longer each iteration), and all I managed to get by now is somewhere around ~3,100,000 points Thanks!
