Rui Neves reacted to Blue4130 in Nvme rubber pad
Sorry, autocorrect thought it was smarter than me. It SHOULD NOT cause any bend.

only rubber you need in a pc is to dampen vibrations from fans/pump and HDD's.. the rest is quite static.. unless you have watercooling.. you'll need it to keep it dry then 😄
if forgot.. isolation for cables and pass through grommits. 😄

don't do anything dumb, and it won't bend. They don't weigh anything, so it's not like they'll bend under their own weight.

just gimmicks to stand out... possibly even causing trouble...
you don't need that, as said its not a bridge or anything, just very lightweight pcb with some stuff on it .
think about gravity also... what bending? a rubberpad under neath wouldn't even stop any bending (downwards at least) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

your board should have a standoff under the end of the drive, that should keep it fairly level with the m.2 slot.
There's no significant risk of bending.

Is it necessary to use a rubber pad under the NVMe drive if the motherboard doesn't have an NVMe heatsink?
I am asking this because I've read people saying that they can bend over time with a motherboard heatsink, so I was wondering if it can still happen without any heatsink on it.

its ram, not a highway bridge, not sure what to tell you...! 😉

When I feel the need to change to the AM5 platform, I think I'll be good for now. I mainly use my PC for browsing the internet and gaming. At least I have the NVMe drive for the future. I only bought a PCIe 4.0 drive because the prices for PCIe 3.0 drives are almost the same, especially when it comes to NVMe drives with DRAM

No, he needs to drop a 5800x3d or 5600x3d on that thing first!

Thank you all for the answers; it seems that my NVMe drive came as it should be. Nice to feel my PC a bit more updated without the old HDDs in it. 😛

Rui Neves reacted to kokosnh in Lexar NM620 SSD 2TB is a good Nvme ?
Yes, fury is better.
that WD is „ok”, but still DRAMless.

M.2 slots won't affect the gpu on your board. The b450 chipset doesn't allow splitting cpu lanes here.

Rui Neves reacted to PineyCreek in Thinking about HDD to NVME upgrade
All a matter of personal preference then. There's nothing stopping you from keeping old drives as backups (in storage, outside the computer) in case something fails as well, aside from extra clutter.

Rui Neves reacted to PineyCreek in Thinking about HDD to NVME upgrade
If you have to pick between the drives and only choose one, then I'd take the 2TB for capacity, unless you plan to regularly load music/videos off that drive and can't stand to wait a few seconds for the usual power-savings to spin the drive back up once again. If you can keep two, I'd keep the 2TB for capacity and the 500GB SSD for items you want to load a tiny bit faster but not important enough to put on your main fastest drive that you're using for OS, etc.

yeah from my experience with class of products from crucial id recommend going with silicon power

Rui Neves reacted to Alex Atkin UK in Loud noise coming from new speakers !
Up to you, but as I said from the start I'd personally feel more comfortable giving it more than less, especially if you already have a suitable charger. You may find the sound quality is better as its able to pull more current during sudden loud noises.

Rui Neves reacted to CTR640 in Loud noise coming from new speakers !
I think you should worry more than about your phone XD
Yep, try 5V 1A first to be sure.
-
Rui Neves reacted to CTR640 in Loud noise coming from new speakers !
USB chargers are no problem because they are available in different versions. Is the 5V 1A not enough? You can use the more powerfull one.
But it's very important never cheap out on usb-chargers, avoid Chinese and other unknown/nonbranded ones.

Yeah, that would free up for another thing indeed 😛
Regarding the last question, 5V 1A should be enough. I mean, it's not like you need QuickCharge usb lol

Doesn't hurt to go for the higher amperage (in case the speakers are lying and have a higher transient load), it shouldn't draw more than it needs. Just don't buy a cheap no brand charger or that itself might introduce noise.

Rui Neves got a reaction from Ben17 in Computer randomly restarts
Since yesterday that have updated amd driver of my gpu (20.8.2) my computer is restarting after playing for sometime but after restart I can play for some hours again . For example yesterday the computer restarted after 2 hours playing , then after restart I've run aida 64 for 1h and half on stability test and everything was fine .... Today I've played for another 2h and restarted again .after that decided to reeinstall the gpu drivers to version 20.8.1 and Played for one more hour and everything went fine , after that decided to do one more stability test that this time test failed and have restarted my pc in about 45min .... So I have run another stability test again and it was running for 1h without any issue ... My temps in cpu reached to 58°c , Mb to 47°c and GPU 75°c ...
What could be the issue , I am really confuse, I was thinking about driver issue because of the timing but now I am thinking on my gpu or psu ...
I am only getting "unexpected shutting down " message on event logs ...
I have run tests on ram on memtest 86 with 1 pass and no erros
List of components :
Xfx Rx 580 gts xxx 4gb
Bitfenix formula gold 550w
Corsair xms3 4gbx2 1666mhz
Amd a8 6600k
Msi a88xm e35
I am using 4 fans and 1 ODD , 1 ssd and 2hdd
The PSU have about 5 months .
The ram , mb and cpu have about 5 years
The gpu have about 3 years
