  1. Although I can say that I am more productive on my Macbook than I ever was when I had a gaming laptop, you won't be able to beat procrastination just by switching your computer with a different one, because you'll just start playing on the playstation instead. The only way you'll be able to beat that is by re-focusing yourself, organize your schedule and beat the urge to give up when you feel overwhelmed. If you can, I'd recommend getting help from a psychologist, it will be much easier for you, but nonetheless it's always up to you to improve and beat that damned procrastination bug!
  2. Will try, but could you give me an estimation of how much should I change? I never messed with those settings
  3. Yes, every time I install windows I wipe the drive. Then I usually give up on trying to make it work and install linux again
  4. No overclocking. I don't use Windows on this computer so this always happens on the day I install windows from scratch, so all drivers are always up to date
  5. I've sent this suggestion once via Twitter, didn't knew that this existed (I just created my forum account). I think it would be really fun if you guys reviewed a Ministry of Freedom laptop https://minifree.org to find out if their offering is actually usable at all, explain to people why does it exist and what it implies to privacy-concerned people (there's also a great topic on the lack of the Intel Management engine for example). I believe it could not only be fun to watch Linus rant about the shitty performance it probably has, it could be highly educational and appeal to the ever-growing Linux-curious crowd and privacy-concerned people alike.
  6. Hello all, After about a year looking for solutions I decided to post here hoping I can finally solve this. My PC is a low-spec machine built for running Linux at home. However, I've been needing Windows here or there, mostly for college work. The thing is that I've been forced to use VM's or another computer, because this PC is unable to run Windows: usually either the screen suddenly goes black and restarts on its own, or I get a BSOD with different error messages, including but not limited to: "video tdr failure (atikmpag.sys)", "clock watchdog timeout". Also, when it does work, sometimes random artifacts appear on screen, colorful squares. On Linux it runs absolutely perfect. Note: I've tried several times installing Windows in hope that it could be a driver issue, but it never worked. Specs: mobo: MSI B450M pro-vdh, latest BIOS 7A38vMC cpu: Ryzen 3 2200g with Vega 8 integrated graphics Ram: 12GB DDR4 team group elite (the 8gig stick was bought later because 4gig wasn't enough anymore) SSD: kingston M.2 Sata 240GB PSU: Aerocool KCAS 600W 80+ bronze Realtek PCI wireless adapter edit: Latest Windows 10 release I'd like to add that everything is running stock, I never did OC Things I've tried: Perhaps the weird RAM configuration could be the problem, but I've tried using only the 8GB stick and it still crashed (right now is how I'm running it, and the dump file attached is with 8gb ram) I've tried both using the manufacturer chipset drivers (suggested by this video) and letting windows update install by itself, none worked At a point it seemed like Firefox was the culprit, because it happened most when I was watching videos on YouTube, but Edge also crashed the PC Now my dad is going to start working from home and I need this pc to work with windows because his pc is old and slow and I'd like him to have good conditions, and stores are closed so I can't get assistance anywhere!
