  1. you done a few mini pc's how about a mini GPU, this thing looks neat... RTX A500 over usb-c https://www.adlinktech.com/en/pocket-ai-with-nvidia-rtx-a500-egpu
  2. Dont know whos fault but i got this notification about 7 times within 5 mins.... everytime i cleared it it cane back had to click on it 2 or 3 times to go away.... no offense but i really dont want to be annoyed cause I dont pay doubke on youtube...
  3. So i walked in on my dad with an ultrawide.... he hasnt updated his system in years, and refuses to update until needed, but its always worked for what hes needed, until he got this ultrawide monitor.... i quickly gave away my 1650lp as im waiting on an adapter cable to run a a4000 i got from work... My question for you guys is can you ID these GPU's....i caught him mid upgrade, from the msi card to the team rocket variant.... ive done no prior research on them but they look like the nvidia/amd fight was 20years ago... lets hear details and what should i repurpose these cards for, since they wont support ultrawide... lol
  4. check out jeff gearlings youtube channel he has done alot of clustering with pi's, as stated tho, it only works on certain workloads, and programs i dont think you could cluster together one SuperPI that uses the hardware from multiple to act as one PC because of the speed limitations of the USB/Network interface used in a cluster, they are not as fast as PCIe lanes or whatever communication used between CPU and ram, then you also would have to synchronize the data being used and have some way to schedule the information to determine how to split the workload within the cluster... thats why it works in theory but not in practice...
  5. i use serial and parralel cards still due to work and ancient equipment, i know several people that use USB cards, (i do on a different PC), SATA/SAS RAID cards are common on storage machines, (my NAS uses one of these), i think the days of sounds cards have passed as most built in Audio works good enough for 90% of end users, thunderbolt and m.2 cards are still a thing for motherboards that dont allow enough expansion, network/WIFI/blutooth cards are still needed if its not baked into the Motherboard elsewhere, and dont forget about graphics cards... so yes, PCI is still a needed thing... personally id like to see more weird niche PCIe cards...
  6. (i havent watched the video) but assuming spec wise they may be the same, the silicon lottery IS real. chances are the performance differences seen are due to better silicon in one vs the other...
  7. CryoUtilities for steamdeck... its a tool that mods ram/vram values in the OS, for more performance, would love to see your take on the subject... would be interesting to see labs compare their results to the authors... github linked below https://github.com/CryoByte33/steam-deck-utilities original creators video
  8. Dowinx gaming chairs. https://dowinx.com/ more specifically : Dowinx -6689
  9. if you want advice, please gives more specs on your config, what ssd/hdd? how much ram is installed? is all of your ram showing up properly? what version of windows are you running? maybe a screen shot of task manager (processes/performance view) ? do you have a ton of background programs running? is windows update running in the background and slowing everything down?
  10. you may not be waiting long enough, also check sata and ahci config in bios to ensure your bios is detecting the new harddrive... remember usb flash drives and Hard drives are slow comepared to a ssd so it may be a slow proccess...
  11. if wer going cheap this is what ive built a few times for some friends who arnt heavy gamers and a few that are, but needed a solid daily pc, my suggestion is go used SFF optiplex, or an precision SFF unit, with atleast 16gb ram and prolly a 6700k or newer they go for 100-150 on ebay with no hard drive.... then id grab a WD blue SSD from walmart for $50, windows images can be downloaded offline, and most dell towers have a license locked to the motherboard so itll be activated... and as it sits itll play games as it is but not super high FPS and you might have low FPS problems in games like DIRT... then as time goes id look for a GTX1650 LP (GDDR6), mine was $150 before the price hikes of covid past, but this one upgrade made it seem like a whole new system... i like ram so i spent $100 on 64gb (but this is optional and can be done cheaper) and i bought a noctua cooler to go on it ~$35 and lastly i repasted everything when i did the cooler, since i had to rip apart everything anyway to get the mobo out of the case... so PC- $100-150 SSD $50 then later GPU $150, could be had cheaper used... cooler $35, reused the OEM fan to prevent the F1 error... for peripherals.. i also bought a nice 1440p display off marketplace for $100 keyboard i bought a nice G710 off ebay for $40 and a G305 for $35 around christmas...
  12. i used mine for fusion360 and light gaming with no issues, now a friend of mine has it (his old HP laptop finally kicked the bucket so i gave it to him) and he uses it for his gaming machine (he plays older MMORPGs) I never once complained about its use, paid less than $100 for it as it came in a old Dell Optiplex SFF, I upgraded ram, cooler, and threw a gtx1650 GDDR6 LP in it and let it eat, runs twos displays at his place and he started streaming with it, CPU never gets over 65-70* and is only running about 70% full tilt while he streams and plays, for a cheap build id definetly still use one today... since it was a SFF i even mounted it under my desk (to the bottom of the desk) so i wouldnt have a tower laying in the floor... I just with theyd come out with a new SFF video card, it would be nice to have the benefits of nvidias broadcast app but sadly theirs no LP RTX cards....
  13. so ive got a couple, their more tech tool related... would be great to hear from alex or some of the labs guys on them... pokit and pokit pro (worlds smallest oscilliscope, multimeter, data logging tool uses your smart phone as the display) the pokit is only rate for i think 50v but the pro is CAT3 rated... https://www.pokitinnovations.com/pokit-pro/ KSGER soldering station (kinda sketchy sounding company but one of the best T12 soldering irons i have ever used, ive actually modified mine to run off a drill battery) https://a.co/d/g2rtkny <-- amazon link to item https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4692201 <-- my portable model (the mini version has no internal power supply so i wired it to run off a drill battery, if you guys want to check it out Blackview BL8800 Pro (overseas tech company, very affordable phones this ones a rugged 5g phone with built in thermal camera) (would be cool to see some of their other products too) https://store.blackview.hk/products/bl8800-pro-5g-thermal-imaging-phone DJI MINI PRO 3 <-- (camera guys can talk about the camera and features, and maybe some non-drone savy could try to fly it and test its ease of use) https://www.dji.com/mini-3-pro Nreal Air AR glasses https://a.co/d/0rnOplO <-- amazon link
  14. i know the world has moved away from reporting on handheld game consoles and only wants to talk about 4090's but their apparently is some cool software called SkyNX to allow pc games to be streamed to a Nintendo Switch without any android mods, could be an interesting alternative to a steam deck for streaming, apparently it does have a limitation by the crappy on board wifi, but a company called Tassei has a prototype that uses a SOC in the gamecard slot with its own wifi card to overcome this... looks like a fun rabbit hole for the handheld gamers of LTT to dive into... github for SkyNX: https://github.com/DevL0rd/SkyNX article on Tassei card: https://nintendoeverything.com/tassei-working-on-pc-stream-card-for-switch/ https://www.4gamer.net/games/999/G999902/20220918054/
