CopiWasTaken reacted to Radium_Angel in Will my g.skill z royal RAM work even if mobo not listed on QVL?
Won't hurt anything, the QVL is simply the vendor's way of saying "we guarantee this RAM works"
    Just leave XMP off.

CL20 isnt bad, but id go with the CL16 personally since you can OC a 3200 stick to 3600 without too much issues generally, especially with a good reliable stick like corsair vengance

It obviously is going to work, but why 32gb of RAM? I would also advise against getting the 1660 ti. A 1660 super or $20-30 more for the 2060 (if you're not willing to wait for new GPUs) is a better deal.

Honestly, I think you should just wait. For $1.3k you can build a very good system in the next couple of months. A Ryzen 5 5600x with a 3070 or one of the new Big Navi GPUs would be a great system.

DDR5 has been under works since last year and SK hynix has announced that it has finally made it into mass production. It will be available in the enterprise space first.

Thoughts: Considering how volatile DRAM prices could be, I would imagine the amount of time until this gets into consumer space at a low cost will still be a year or two. Reading the article I've also noticed that there were no mentions of AMD or ARM so that is a bit of worry. One more note is that from another article, it is said some of the RAM have Latencies of up to 30ns, would that be an impact?

probably something like an RX 570 if you're pairing it with this CPU and only playing at 1080p. Used prices are excellent.

If you want the best performance for gaming, go with the 10600k. You won't see that much of an increase, if any, by going with the 10700k.
If you want something more on the budget end, the Ryzen 3600 is a good choice, however it does lack performance when compared to the 10600k.
Don't get the 2000 series from Nvidia, their 3000 series is almost here and they'll be significantly better.

For cooling I'd personally go with a large air cooler.

Choose intel if you will game really often, got a strong cooler, probably overclock, dont edit very often. If you game but edit real often, i would suggest AMD. also, reason for not going 10th gen or waiting for new releases?

You can run in fullscreen and set the Fullscreen Resolution to 1280x720 in Video Settings instead. Alternatively, you can lower the resolution of your secondary display to 1920x1080 or 1280x720 in Display settings (Win+R, enter ms-settings:display into Run). Your 620 should be able to handle 1920x1080 if you use OptiFine.

That's exactly what I was trying to figure out. Both of your monitors are rendering the game at 3840x2041. A UHD 620 will not be able to handle that resolution. Try changing the resolution in launch options to 1920x1080, and use exclusively your secondary monitor.

Man what is Sony thinking with such a garbage port? A PS4 game that can't run at 1080p60 fps on even an RX 580? Much less struggling to run 1080p30 on a GTX 1060. How exactly is Sony expecting putting out this amazing game in such a terrible state is going to motivate PC gamers to buy a PS5 to play the sequel? I'm just amazed it can run so badly when it was a rock solid 1080p30 on the weak-ass PS4 Slim. A GTX 1060 is at least three times the gpu as what's in the base PS4, it should have no problem running a game like this at 1080p60.

CopiWasTaken reacted to Theguywhobea in NZXT Vulcan, FINALLY
Hey guys, after what ended up being literal years of searching, I was finally able to find someone near by selling an NZXT Vulcan case. Personally I have a bit of a soft spot for this case as it's the one I took too and from my college dorm most of the time I was there. I foolishly sold that PC while I was in college and always regretted it after since I thought this was such a cool case.

First post is just the case, however I hope to get a nice build going in here and maybe so some people how cool a case like this can be.
