  1. Just thought I would post back in this thread to reply. I took a trip to NYC this afternoon to the Herman Miller Store. Had a good long talk with a nice employee there, it was like he was the Steve Jobs/Tim Cook of seating lol. He had a look at me, told him my height and weight. And how long I can go at times in a single day at my desk. He immediately recommended I try the Aeron Chair Size C (The one with the biggest seat) with a weight limit of 350lbs. It was like heaven, not even joking. He thoroughly explained each of the features and showed me how to use them. I am pretty sure I can find a very nice setting to sit in on it. It would cost me I believe $1,475 before tax, free shipping it will come fully assembled. And will come with all features installed for maximum comfort. Only thing that will drive up the price other than that is if I want it in a different color. Also I will have 30 days to try it out, and if I don’t like it I can send it back free of charge. It also comes with a 12 year warranty. Where if anything were to happen if something were to break on it, they could send someone out to fix it free of charge. And if I have one issue I use the warranty for it doesn’t end it because I’m opting to get it fixed. I was told the warranty continues the full 12 years no matter how many times something may break on the chair. I tried some other chairs while there, I forgot the name. But two of them which I thought might be decent fits were totally not. They were much too small for me.
  2. So I'll try and be straight to the point. I'm looking to purchase a new chair to sit in comfortably at my desk. Literally anything would be better than what I am using right now. A bit about me, I'm 5'5, 300lbs. My weight fluctuates weekly between 295-300lbs (I check it weekly) depending on how well I can keep myself from eating junk food. I just tonight found out there's a Herman Miller location near me I can go to check out some chairs in person. Some Herman Miller chairs I have in mind that meet my weight requirements that look like I think might be a good match for me (IMO) are: Mirra 2, & Aeron. What I like about them is that they have a nice really long Warranty in case anything were to go wrong. And that I could try it out in person before I buy. I've also been looking at these two chairs linked below. https://www.autonomous.ai/office-chairs/ergonomic-chair - Is $499, meets my weight requirement, has 2 year warranty & I can try it for 30 days and send it back risk free (They pay return shipping) if I don't like it. https://www.autonomous.ai/office-chairs/kinn-chair - Is $699, meets my weight requirement, has 5 year warranty & I can try it for 30 days and send it back risk free (They pay return shipping) if I don't like it. If anyone has any other suggestions, do feel free to post them.
  3. So I am considering purchasing a laptop, I will mostly be using it for browsing Reddit and watching YouTube and to be play some games smoothly. Budget is up to $1.4-$1.5k Is now a good time to purchase? Or should I wait maybe for better deals? If so about how long? I’m not after a desktop replacement, I have a good desktop that can run the games that I listed below without problems. I’m just after something I can bring into another room when I get bored of sitting in my room for a change of scenery. I would say I would mostly be browsing Reddit & watching YouTube and the laptop having the capability to run those games would be great. Most games I play are Fall Guys, Fortnite, Hearthstone, OSRS, Overwatch, RuneScape.
  4. So basically, yesterday we finally decided to upgrade our internet from 150mbps down and /150mbps up to 980mbps down and / 880mbps up. Surely I know I'm not going to get the full speed over wifi, but I definitely want to make the moust of of this speed. My mother hates running wires throughout the house. So running an ethernet cable from my bedroom to my brothers bedroom where the router is, sadly isn't an option. The closest I would be able to get is a powerline adapter. After getting everything set up with our new router and finishing up on the phone with FIOS. On wifi I am getting between 110-120mbps down on Fast.com over wifi, and that is using the 5ghz connection. On the 2.4ghz connection I get 30mbps. My internet adapter is fairly old, it's a Netgear WNDA 4100. The rep over the phone told me I could use a wifi extender and run an ethernet cable from it to my PC, but when I look that up I just see articles about how using an ethernet cable with a wifi extender is just for set up? Or am I wrong? My options: Target has in stock the following: Netgear AC1200 WiFi USB Adapter Netgear AC1200 Wifi Range Extender Netgear AC1750 WiFi Mesh Extender Best Buy has in stock the following: Linksys AC750 Boost Range Extender Netgear AC750 Dual-Band WiFi Range Extender Linksys AC1200 Dual Band WiFi Range Extender Linksys Velop Plug-In AC1300 Dual Band WiFi Mesh Extender Netgear AC1200 Dual Band WiFi Range Extender Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900 Dual Band Gigabit Mesh Capable WiFi Range Extender
  5. Just looking for something to take on the go once in a while. I'd mostly be using it for watching Anime & Gaming Budget is 1k-1.4k. Games I play are mostly Fortnite, Minecraft, Overwatch, Red Dead Redemption 2, RuneScape. One thing to note, I think I prefer a screen size of 15 or so inches. As that's what my backpack says it's designed to safely protect. Though a 17 inch could fit in my backpack as well. I was at Best Buy earlier today they didn't have much of a selection, though I got recommended this Razer Blade 15 employee said it regularly costs 2k, but it was Open Box & discounted to $1.2k for 'Minor Scratches'. I inspected it at the store with the employee and at home, didn't notice anything really. Though it is incredibly loud not even while gaming, just downloading Windows Updates it was super loud. And after playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on it for about 5-10 minutes I checked my temps using Speccy and the CPU was at 80-81C. So I'm bringing it back tomorrow, I have a feeling something more might be wrong with it with that temp and that steep of a discount. This is another laptop I am considering it's in stock at my local Micro Center (Paterson NJ Store if anyone wants to search and recommend something there). It's an HP Omen.
  6. Yeah, so I just purchased my first wireless headset, for PC at least. I picked up these Turtle Beach Elite Atlas Aero mostly because of the price point and 4-5 reviews I watched on YouTube about them seemed good. But I’m curious how do you guys charge your wireless headsets? Do you just leave it plugged in for a bit wired until they finish, then unplug it? Or do you plug them into another USB Device / Outlet while your PC is off?
  7. It's been a long time since I've run Folding @ Home. Would like to run it again, but really wouldn't want it to impact my gaming experience seeing as that's pretty much all I do on my PC all the time. Would anyone be able to tell me by looking at my specs it would effect performance running it while gaming? Games I play are: Call of Duty Warzone, Fortnite, League of Legends, Minecraft, Overwatch, Red Dead Redemption 2, RuneScape 3.
  8. So I'm just curious, hopefully it is okay to leave a link to a Strawpoll I'll leave it down below. With my old PC I used to shut it off each night before I went to sleep, and would turn it back on in the morning when I woke up. I'd do this daily, but the past few years I've gotten into the habit of just leaving it turned on (Not using Sleep Mode). And about once a week or so I would reboot it. Not sure why exactly I rebooted it, but I guess I thought it felt a bit bogged down after being left turned on so long without a restart. So what do you do with your PC's? Do you shut down each night? Just leave it turned on? Or have it in sleep mode? Also, is leaving it turned on in any way harmful to the PC? I've heard that shutting down and turning on daily/repeatedly isn't good for the components. But I'm not great with computers, so I have no idea. Strawpoll
  9. My environment in my bedroom doesn't get too dusty, I try to get around to cleaning it about once a week. I do notice a bit of dust build up on my desk (It's glass surface) and doesn't look pretty, so yeah I try and wipe it down once a week.
  10. So yeah, I've got my first 'real' Gaming Rig and I want to make sure I keep it in good shape going forward. I will try and ask what comes to mind here, but if anybody has any tips/suggestions, do feel free to post them. 1) How often should I clean my PC? (In terms of dust, I normally cleaned my old PC about once a month it didn't get too dusty, though I didn't want it to build up either. Way of cleaning it I have an electric air duster I've used before with no problems.) 2) Do I NEED an antivirus/anti malware program? On my previous PC I only really used Windows Defender, and kept Malwarebytes installed, though each time I've run a scan I've never found anything. I don't browse any sites where I'd think I would pick something up.
