I ran the controller on bare-metal for a while for my nanoHD and its totally overkill unless you have lots of networking gear by Ubiquiti.  Ate a ton of RAM and CPU resources due to being Java based.

I can see the benefit for actual enterprise use, but I feel its foolish to tie yourself into a single vendor as a home user as you lose flexibility in choosing the best hardware for the job/price.

Should do what it says; this has been available for quite a while.

For local management, you never really needed a CloudKey to begin with. IIRC, the CK gets you remote access via Ubiquiti's servers.

FinOxy reacted to Applefreak in Server Protection - All Help Wanted
I'm assuming you've set your server up to be on the internet, meaning you share your ip to the world. That way your server and your entire network becomes a target. Now either someone used a list of vulnerable routers to go in (scripted attack) or more likely someone connecting to your game used your ip to get access to your system, maybe a revenge plot because you kicked a player or for some other reason. That is why you do not want your home ip to be shared publicly. You can lock out everyone except for certain ip ranges you trust in your basic windows firewall. However if your modem / router is compromised, that opens the attacker up to use all unpatched vulnerabilities on your server, which there are many of but again, that would be the outcome of a targeted attack on you specifically. There is also the possibility someone on the client side downloaded something or opened an attachment with a backdoor trojan. As for ruling out future attacks, well that depends on how you set it up in the first place. If the server is only used locally, make sure it cannot be reached from the outside world. If you use stuff like plex to access your media while on the go, you open yourself up to a number of possible attacks, especially on windows. Depending on what infrastructure you currently deploy in your home, check all the access logs. If you had your account linked to MS you can ask for your password to be reset within in minutes. Should give you full access. Replacing the OS will do the same thing (you need an install media). However please check if your MS account has been compromised as well and change all your other passwords you used on that system for safety reasons.

    Ah, Hello there sled
    Just saw the same article
    (https://www.hs.fi/visio/art-2000009114112.html)
The Oura is A Finnish company, based out of Oulu. And based on the HS Visio article, their name was combination of Ora, the Japanese word for gold, and Oulu.

And that is how they would write that name, based on their website
But to the Juicy parts, whcih I did not really find well covered in Linus and Luke's Wan show
This is my direct translation, which may include some mistakes, so please let me know. I will, off course correct it
(co-operation) is my addition, I think it gets the message accross more clearly
Oura's leadership declined HS vision request for an interview. The company provided only a written statement through their Finnish communication partner.
"We appriciate our (co-operation) partners and we are big fans of Linus Tech Tips. We always have clear and broad guidance on partnership content. In this partnership, the criteria of our guidance were not fulfilled. We asked our partner to make reasonable changes, which regrettably we did not get. We are dissapointed at the final result, but we still are their fans and follow their content.
    End of statement
And interestingly, a little bit later it covers how the name was picked, but I compressed it earlier.
The article ends with a comment from a economics professor saying that it would probably have been better to accept that this happened, and take it with humor.
"A video made as a joke, where they provide a guide how it should have been pronounced, would have most likely multiplied to amount of recognition and viewership the content got".
And I would say this were the more critical parts. And I did all the translation by hand, not with google translate, since with that you cannot be sure of anything going between FInnish and English.

    Well, no.
Based on their website they write it as Oura. Ōura only appears as their logo and subsequently all instances where it's used as an image, while the rest of their website writes it without the diacritical mark.
For an intents and purposes, they call themselves Oura while Ōura is simply a logo and a stylized named. It's basically Fant4stic and Se7en.

FinOxy reacted to Thaldor in LTT made the news in Finland re: Oura-gate
Well that explains. The few of those I knew back in when MeeGo wasn't officially out went batshit crazy every time you made a joke about it being named in honor to the most loved Star Wars character Jar Jar Binks, like seriously batshit crazy, after one joke about the name and they went on to well over hour long rants how great it is and it is awful to joke around it... Later they worked on Sailfish OS and oh boy the fun I had calling it Failfish OS just to have fun with them and I can't forget the (W)HERE maps in it's infancy when they had problems getting GPS data work with Android. And don't get me wrong, stuff they did was amazing and great, they just could have asked someone about the marketing and grow a bit thicker skin when someone made fun of them.

As a Finn I need to clarify that out side of Oura, no one calls it Oura, it's pretty much even impossible for a single Finn to call it "Aura" or whatever else they want to call it but can't spell it. I don't know what the skid mark over the O is supposed to be, it's nothing Finnish, apparently something from Japanese and even in there it's just longer O without anything to do with A. I don't know did they try some linguistic acrobatics that... Well, this is Finnish English:
And that is pretty common. The "Rally English" is in our blood and that most likely won't change, ever.

I would assume that would not be an issue, considering relativly low power consumed.
ANd noting, Alienware is horrible at their product desing on the desktop side.
Looks at Gamer's Nexus channel, they have a good video about it
I would not be worried about itt, it should be fine

If they are specced for that kinda use, nope, shouldn be a problem
I would assume that shouldn't be an issue, but noting that there are gaming towers out there with failing VRM's (Looking at you Alienware), it is not impossible.
You have not provided the laptop full specifications
    Things like
Model/product name (Zephurys G15 for example, if there is any)
If there are multiple products with the same name, please provide the config/product code, usually quite long string of letters and charecters
    Not the Serial number (S/N)

    CPU
    GPU
    RAM

    1. Tournaments
    2. Have a way to organise rideshares, 1 person comes with their car and other people coould come
And since there is no parking at the venue, this would also make a bit of sense, so ridesharing, where possibly
This would also reduce the amount of vehicules unloading, since not everyone would come on their own.
    3. Equipment,
Every one brings over their own laptop/dekstop and maybe a display, if needed
What about networking (switches, routers), power distribution (The building has a lot of power available, but how do you get that to the gamer's.
These are one of the hardest things there is, since this is not the thing the building is used and setted up for.
4.Maybe open a dedicated thread on planning somewhere, where people can also add their own ideas and give feedback?

For some context, I have some experience organising LAN-parties
While I was the person-in-charge, the two events had around 49 to 56 participants
Not on this scale, but if you want me to comment, let me know

Leave only the CPU,GPU,RAM,CPU cooler and storage connected and try again. If you have another GPU or RAM you can try it and see if its a GPU/RAM problem. Try reseating the original GPU. If nothing helps might be your motherboard or CPU. Also this youtuber does a lot of PC repairs for his viewers I stopped watching him but I am pretty sure he had the same problem.

He did have other choices. IBM didn't include schematics with the PC and that's just one of many examples. I'm sure there are systems not built with off the shelf parts but I'm not super well versed in vintage stuff so can't name any examples. Also fwiw chip sockets add considerable cost and extra labour to a system compared to just soldering the chips directly. Sure there are manufacturing advantages (such as easily configured RAM and ROM) but I think it's still worth mentioning.
