Are you getting any type of post codes? Also did you short the 24 pin with the rest connected to the motherboard? Check for dust and try a different outlet

If it's attempting to power up but all it does is spin the fans at maximum speed for a couple seconds before doing a hard power off, I want to say it's either CPU, Motherboard, or Power Supply.

I'd get hold of a second power supply (borrow a friends or one from another PC with enough wattage) and hook up the bare minimum (24 pin ATX power, CPU 4/8 pin power, remove your GPU and use on-board graphics, use 1 stick of RAM in slot 1) to test this theory.

If this doesn't work, you know it's gotta be Motherboard or CPU related. You've done the right thing trying to reset / clear the CMOS. Just to be sure, you need to use a jumper or short out the CLR_CMOS pins on your motherboard during power on, or simply disconnect both AC wall power and remove the CR2032 battery for about 20 minutes.

If it continues to power on but only spin up the fans and power off, the next step I would try is flashing a new BIOS file from a USB stick, assuming your motherboard manufacturer was smart enough to actually support a feature similar to ASUS' Bios Flashback. (where you can flash BIOS' to the CMOS without having a GPU, or even RAM or a CPU installed.)

Worst case, your CPU went belly up, but I've never experience this out of the blue. Always had motherboards wear out on me before CPUs, be they AMD or Intel CPUs. I'd normally suggest popping in another LGA1150 socketed CPU, but if your motherboard is the problem, I'd want to avoid that in case it fries the new test CPU.

Pro Duo wasn't meant to compete with 1080. Just proving my point that AMD isn't only associated with budget like you suggested

I am rooting for amd because if nvidia gets no concurreny in those markets they can start to milk the market. If there is almost no concurrency they can ask whatever price they want because there is no alternative for high end cards

    Calm down...
To explain the facts: The card itself is faster than 980 SLI. Its 2x faster in VR (VR <---) Not everything it is not, I repeat not, twice as fast as the 980ti

Go for the 5820k, no point in getting a 5930k when your not even SLI/CF or many m.2/sata ssd's

also wait for polaris/pascal to come out within a few months or days

the noctua industrial fans are good but very loud. for the aio i would recommend the Noctua NF-P14s redux-1500 PWM and for the case fans the Noctua NF-P14s redux-1200 140mm. they are cheaper, way more quiet and optimized for the job.

Alright for cooling the ITX is pretty small/compact I would go for these fans instead of noctua

you might want to get rid of that phanteks shround and put the x61 on the front because the back dosen't seme to have enough clearence for a thick 120/140mm rad for the GPU

Haha, yeah, for sure! Except it comes with a single fan radiator - plus, as you said, will be waiting on Pascal but will use Gigabyte Waterforce 980 Ti as a reference point.

Also, that fan is darn thin.

NVIDIA teases the latest GeForce Pascal coolers design for the cards that will be unveiled tomorrow!

Looks like the leaks for the pascal coolers are legit, seeing it has been confirmed by nvidia, and the tease picture. What do you guys think, do you still hate it or think its cool? I myself think its pretty sweet

I don't see the issue with the shroud, I rather like it. However, I never go with the reference cards as others offer better performance.

@_Shaho While I know this table I made isn't that useful or incredibly accurate as my source was wccf tables. I just want to point out that if Cuda cores and SP cores are equivalent the GTX 1070 has the same amount of Cuda cores as the 480X has Stream Processors.
I left out ROPs and TMUs because there would be only TBA/TBD in that row.
I don't think it'll be until Vega that AMD hits the mark against GP104. Though I do think Vega is when AMD will be able to more
handily beat GP100/Volta. Though Navi is expect around the time Volta should be coming out, unless Volta is slotted for 2017 now?

I'm also aware that I am comparing the mid range of the Polaris R9 family to the mid and high end of Pascal.

    No problem...

Anyways, well I suppose you could call it such. Though bang for the buck shouldn't have to mean it'll be crap against whatever Nvidia has to sell.

Whether or not it'll beat GP104, it's hard to say since neither are out yet. Which one might beat who? Hard to say still, it's probable Nvidia will out perform AMD this year again. Though I think that AMD might be able to close that gap with AMD probably being the winner for Price/Performance and likely better Performance/Watt than GP104 too.

I do hope that the 480X will be the best for 1440p/60fps with high to ultra settings, if it's suppose to be the VR sweet spot card.
