  1. So you found a track day in Ohio and being I said I went to it during an eclipse you looked it up to see if I would be impressed? If you have any pictures of me at the track that would be cool and would be more impressive. I never caught up with any of the track photogs and getting a few photo's of me going slow would be appreciated. Can't say I know who did the video, they are certainly faster than I am. Couple more eclipse photos from this week.
  2. As long as your very diligent to get all polishing compound and debris from the pocket that the bearing (ceramic bead) sits in I can't see it causing any issues. Not sure if it will make anything better but I am open to hear your results. I don't know that I have heard of anyone doing this and kinda curious to see how it works out.
  3. Got lucky in Ohio and only a few wispy clouds at times. Here are a few of what i was able to get.
  4. I don't know of a reverse search that natively does video (mp4 or the like). I normally use the site IMGOPS.COM for searching still images (jpg, png). It hits all the major reverse sites. The google search used to work with motion gif images. You should just be able to upload the entire gif and it will pull the preview frame and search it for you, well at least it used to, I don't have a way to test it from work to be sure it still does.
  5. Ahh, I also found this quote on the EOC database stats page "Unfortunately I've had to prune the tables over the years, and as of right now user data only goes back to 2013, and team data to 2008." So even they don't have the records going back that far. Oh well. I was messing with the wayback machine and looking at my old forum posts and found some from 2006 that I was having stuck WU issues so I know it's back at least that far. Certainly didn't get as many points per WU back then.
  6. Mines not accurate on their list. It shows my first record as 3/16/2020. I have been folding on/off with the same user name since at least 2006 if not farther back than that. Before the LTT forum I used to fold for the PcApex (Pimprig) forums; Team PimpRig (596) Earned 6,960,174 points by contributing 13,956 work units
  7. I've used that website for a while but not sure that they have any way to check how many years I have been folding for. I guess I didn't word my other reply as well. I was looking to see how many years ago I signed up and started folding. I used to fold for another forum almost 20 years ago at this point but it would be cool to figure out when I actually signed up and started.
  8. Is there a place where you can find how long you've been folding for? I know roughly when I started for the LTT forum but I folded sporadically before here and would be curious to see how long it's been.
  9. It is unless you want to travel the world chasing them. The next one in my part of the country won't happen till after I'm dead. I'm 47 and this will be my first time to see a total solar eclipse. I got to see the partial that was in ohio maybe 10 years ago but I was at the racetrack with the motorcycle when it happened so I didn't get to see much of it.
  10. I'm in Ohio, I'm planning on driving about an hour North West to a friends house to hang out. I should get about 3.5 minutes of totality. Already started practicing photographing the sun for the last few weekends when I had time so I can try and get my camera settings figured out. Here's a shot I took the other day of the sun at about 1pm. I'm just hopeful that we can get a sunny day for it and they we aren't covered in clouds for the event.
  11. I seem to think it was around 2000-2005 time frame for craigslist. I remember trying to set up dates and stuff with the ladies when the romance section was launched. Lots of shady dealing went on in that section back in those days as well. LoL.
  12. I guess I'm just a grumpy old, grey beard, get off my lawn old fart, but Marketplace is just as bad from a sellers standpoint. I have never tried to buy anything from there but at this point in the game I would rather just throw my unused stuff in the trash than deal with trying to sell things to the ungrateful pos people on either of those platforms that live in my area. Just ask me about how many people tried to offer up unwanted pets to me in trade for a motorcycle I was trying to sell that was listed as cash only/no trades.
  13. Sorry to retort with the comment of, when hasn't craigslist been full of scammers? That website has always been my last resort to find something as it seems it's full of more garbage than a shady pawn shop.
  14. Chain and sprockets were original to the bike and were starting to show signs of age. The sprockets didn't look too worn but I had two links in the chain that wanted to stay kinked when coming off the forward sprocket as you rolled the wheel around. You could get them to pull straight if you worked them but it is just the first sign the o-rings had gone bad and it wasn't moving as free as it should have been. It was just time so I don't have to deal with it in another month or two once the weather finally starts to warm up here in Ohio.
  15. Skipped college 30 years ago and went to a tech school. 2 years to become an aircraft mechanic. Now 28 years later still turning wrenches on aircraft. Work provided laptop is a Dell Latitude 7420. Home rig is a custom loop water cooled desktop running an I9-9900K with a RTX3090.
  16. I know this might be a slight diversion from the actual topic but it is kinda related to what your trying to work through. I know the OP is looking to maintain the listening experience, as well as protect hearing, but concerts don't normally sound as good as a properly recorded studio album. I don't see the economy of buying crazy expensive hearing protection to listen to music that isn't of the same fidelity as what comes from even a medium grade of headphones plugged into a stereo. I have been to 40-50 concerts in the past 30 years and none have ever had the sound quality good enough to wish I had better ear plugs than foam squishies. My reason for concerts is the stage show and the experience as well as back in the good old days to stand next to a speaker stack with volumes levels way past OSHA safe levels. If your going to rave/techno events on a regular basis try the cheap foam earplugs first. I can't imagine the people setting these things up are spending even 5 minutes on room correction, system balancing or any of the probably dozens of things you need to make music sound it's best. They are probably cranking the amps till things distort and then turn it back down 2 notches. You can put the cheap ones in and out and compare how they affect your personal experience. If you find you don't like how things sound then feel free to upgrade to more expensive hearing protection. Just don't overlook cheap and effective just to buy the expensive and effective alternative without trying cheap first.
  17. Yep, 2016 Pikes Peak. Got the cams out and pulled all the shims to measure them and figure out what the new sizes I need. Here's the latest photo with everything pulled out. Hopefully tomorrow night I can start getting things put back in. Can't say I like holding the valves in place with zip ties.
  18. The joy of being a single guy. Doing a major service on my motorcycle in my Dinning room. The 18K mile service is due on my Multistrada. $900 in parts so far and only half way done. Chain, sprockets, air/fuel/oil filters, new spark plugs and some gaskets. Took the rear axle out and checked/re-greased the rear bearings. Have the valve covers off and the valves need adjusting, that will be tomorrows project to pull the cams and re-shim everything.
  19. From the photo's the subwoofer is not an internally amplified style. Your Kenwood amp doesn't have a speaker level subwoofer output, it only has an rca output. The sub normally would have been paired with a Samsung HT-WX70 home theater package that had an amp designed specifically to power that speaker. It would probably be best not to try and hook your two pieces of gear together.
  20. I don't own one but for being as a semi-educated guess is that the subwoofer faces down. The soundbar needs to know if it has a reflective surface below the speaker or if the surface is behind it, it probably changes the sound processing to the subwoofer to compensate for the way it's mounted.
  21. I get the cheap ear plugs from the sleep aid isle at the food store. Less than $10 for a whole bag full of the foam rubber ear plugs. When I was younger I didn't wear them and now I wear hearing aids and listen to my tinnitus instead of enjoying sleep. Still rock out at unsafe levels though. Oh well, once a metalhead always a metalhead.
  22. As a side note for folks with older Canon bodies. I have a T1I (500D) that I sideloaded a operating system flash onto it. Look up Magic Lantern Canon software. They have software refreshes for a bunch of Canon gear to add extra features that didn't always come from the factory.
  23. The XTI Cameras have a built in Histogram feature, not sure if that's what you meant by spectrogram. A quick screencap from the xti manual.
