Yeah, usually I will map both (Unifi has the option for both) for any given port to simplify matters.

i've just noticed that i had the port mapped for TCP and not UDP... the whole day of formatting the PI and reconfiguring everything from scratched multiple times probably killed my brain, at least it works now, checking if "port mapping" was the right term made me notice the issue ^^"

what worked in the end is:

settings the public IP and not the DNS
    mapping the port as UDP

Did you "open" the port, or did you "forward" the port to the specific IP of your RasPi? You need to do the latter in order for traffic to pass from outside network to inside device.

Is your "public IP" globally unique or does your ISP have another router above you? (i.e. double NAT) Does your routers WAN IP address match your public IP?

5 VMs each with its own dongle passed through to a different channel maybe?  Need a lotta lotta PC to pull that one off.  This would be easier if it wasn’t wifi. Wifi splits in a different way, and the software controller appears to assume to only want to be connected to one camera.  This may just not work.  Video has to stream unimpeded if you don’t want hitches.  Security cams do it by having a very low resolution.  This sounds like a complicated thing to set up and make reliable before the fact.  Testing at the event sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Depending on what systems you wish to emulate, a raspberry pi zero ($10 USD) should be plenty to run Atari/NES/Genesis/SNES era games. Sometimes you have to play with the settings for some 16 bit titles (starfox comes to mind), but it's not difficult in retropie. If you wish to emulate N64 and above, you'll have to go with a rpi 4...I've tried it on a rpi 3 and it was a stuttery mess.

What systems do you want to emulate? Im using RetroPie for a couple small systems. Typically I've been using the 3B+ Pi for them. The only thing I've using the Pi 4 so far for is my PiHole. I actually prefer the 3 for these projects strictly because of the full size HDMI. It's convenient not to need a special dongle or cable.

The Pi 3 runs all the 16-bit and prior stuff no issues. When you start to get into 64-bit stuff or CD based consoles, people will say it works. It requires a bunch of tinkering in my experience. It also seems there isn't one thing that works for everything (64-bit / CD stuff that is). Whereas on a PC with more power all that stuff just works without the fuss. So I pretty much leave the Pi based emulation to SNES / Sega and older. So for me a bunch of NES and Atari primarily. Now I will throw arcade out there as well, as I've run quite a few Arcade titles on mine, and they run pretty well too.

If you are certain that Pi3 (model B/B+) is sufficient for your purposes, then you probably don't need a big size SD card (unless ps1/CD games).
A charger, unless your bartop kit includes smth.
A little heatsink that you can stick to the chip is a good idea, while a fan is most probably an overkill.

If you are not sure which Pi or if paying extra for Pi4 worth it -> google/youtube your (required) systems performance. I mean if you only play smth like NES, you might be better off with a much cheaper Pi Zero

Can't say if you can find any good price, but I wouldn't pay more than ~USD 120 (total) for a basic Pi3B+ kit (charger, case, SD, heatsink).

Don't know about the Italian market specifically but a bare 4GB Pi4 should be around 60-70€. The accessories included in the starter kit are where you can save since you may not need them all/be able to find those you need way cheaper.

I mean, worst they can say is the product is no longer supported under *nix.
You still might find an old repository floating somewhere on the 'net tho.

I can't help with Google Drive storage unless it's accessible over SSH. I don't know of Linux tools aimed towards GD but as Electronics Wizardy stated it looks like rclone is a thing. It says it's for services like GD.

Worth is subjective, so in the end you're really the only person that can answer the question.
Is spending that money worth it to have cables you can replace?

I'd only replace the PSU if it's nearing the end of it's warranty.

For audio setup on linux read this:

    https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/raspberrypi

next, you will need some guitar amp VST which can work on Linux as well as Linux VST host. Personally I never used anything like that on Linux so Google is your friend.

For the input you need something with a high impedance. There are several schematics circulating on the internet. Maybe you can try JFET input stage of 1w amp project. Did not try it personally but it seems that it would fit the purpose.

For footswitch one or more GPIO pins of Raspberry Pi can be used do detect switch press. Also, some of those pins are I2C and SPI busses which can be used for display output. I am afraid that there is no out of the box solution that would fit those requirements and you would probably have to write your own software to do that.

And lastly for the output you can connect audio out of Raspberry to something like this

    have you tried this steps?

Press Windows key + R on your keyboard. Type %userprofile%, and then hit Enter. Click View tab. Under Show/hide option, place a check mark under Hidden items. Choose AppData folder. Right-click IconCache, and then click Delete.
