  1. I personally don't bother with transcoding, it's much cheaper in most cases to just have a 720p version for playback on non-compatible devices IMO. Obviously depends on circumstances so YMMV in that regard. For me that equates to approx 250GB of space to store 720p versions of my 4k content, which is very cheap comparatively to having to buy a pretty beefy CPU to transcode instead. You shouldn't need to bother having 720p versions of 1080p movies you have as even a pretty tame CPU with QS should be able to handle transcode of that I think. Also, if you did have trouble transcoding, you could always switch to using KODI which usually handles things with ease... On my microserver with a Celeron G1610T (2 cores only) I can server a 4K version high bitrate (57.5Mb/s) movie to my phone with a 1080p screen and the CPU usage on the server is still idling at between 1-6% only most of the time. Personally I like using plex, especially for TV shows as I then don't have to keep track of what I have watched etc... but for movies I don't mind using KODI as it doesn't put a strain on the server even at several streams simultaneously in 4k.
  2. If you can't borrow a CPU or take it to a PC shop to get them to update BIOS for you, you have 2 options left, buy a CPU like the Athlon 200GE to update your BIOS, or get a different motherboard that has BIOS flashback on it, such as an MSI tomahwak/max or so on.
  3. Agree, if you're fine with everything except the battery life, change the battery. In IOS I have to say that performance is less noticeable IMO, than in Android devices... at least that's my experience from occasional use of my brothers and sisters phones ranging from 5 series up to 11, doesn't seem much difference to me.
  4. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24971/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-64-bit Any good?
  5. Wow, that's shitty... Am4 has been around for more than 3 years now, there's no excuse for not having proper information on compatibility, or to not include adaptors in the first place. My advice would be to get either a cooler that uses it's own backplate, or that uses the AMD mounting brackets. The following does one or the other for definite as I used them on my tomahawk:- Cryorig C7 Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 lite Be Quiet pure rock
  6. The i9 build is worth a fair bit more than $400, so can't see what you're asking exactly.
  7. I don't get what you mean? Assuming you have your head in one corner of the room, if you simply lay the other way around, you'd be facing the corner, so then mount the TV in that corner.
  8. That won't do it, it only extends 24" from the wall at the furthest point, so a 50" TV won't go 90 degrees, not even close. OP, you're unlikely to find something that will do what you want, mainly because the size of the TV... just a question though, couldn't you face the other way in bed and instead have it mounted flat to the other wall? and use an extension/multi-plug if you need to.
  9. The right to repair doesn't mean that the manufacturer still has to provide warranty, in fact the warranty could still say something like "opening the phone invalidates your warranty with us". The right to repair simply means that they should be easier to do so, rather than having to junk devices because they are so difficult to repair that it's not worth it. Well that was my take on it anyway.
  10. There is some stock left in the UK, but am guessing you're in the US? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B01H07FV5Y/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all I'd just get as close a match as possible though instead.
  11. Don't think so, this is the spec Definitely doesn't mention PD, but also doesn't mention QC either, so guessing it's their own brand of charging?
  12. I'd ditch the 9700f personally and go with a Ryzen 3600, get faster ram
  13. Just FYI, but we need the link, like this
