You got the CPU FAN ERROR because it was not spinning.
Replace the fan with a working one and the ERROR (about the fan not spinning) will most likely go away.

Or just change the plugs for the fans. Plugin the front one in the socket the back one was connected to and vice versa.

They are nearly the exact same internal frame, so they will be identical in every aspect of cable management (with the exception of rubber grommets in the TD500) and build quality. The main difference is styling, and the MB511 RGB comes with an exhaust fan which helps a lot in removing hot air from the case.

Personally, I like the looks of the TD500 Mesh, but both are basically the same thing in terms of airflow and cable management. The MB511 RGB is $90 while the TD500 is $100. I would go with what's cheaper. Also, it seems that the MB511 is prone to either leak noise more, or fans are louder, than the TD500 Mesh.

Many CoolerMaster cases are very similar to each other. They should both give you very good airflow when equipped with at least 3 fans (only with the MB511 with mesh font!). Cable management will be very similar aswell. This is pretty much a matter of which looks you like more and which one is less expensive.

i can't remember the specs off the top of my head.
but if she's using it in school it might be a bother if it require a spinning fan whenever it's on so you might also take that into consideration.
i had that problem during my exam and had to open an "illegal" external program to tell my pc to shut up otherwise it sounded like someone starting a big server.

at that point it could easily depend on if she want's a mac (i don't reccomend because i dislike apple computers) they are easy to use with many edeting programs and such.
try looking at some of the thin ones from asus, since she probably doesn't need a gaming laptop

For programming not much, but a nice cpu helps with compiling,
As for video editing that really depends what she has to edit. Are we talking 4k footage in big projects or putting together video files and a bit of rendering.
In general CPU, GPU and RAM are all important for videoediting but the amount of each depends on usecase, budget and software

No, it's fine. It's not particularly great, but it's still below the default 80C temperature limit so it's not bad.

Anything under 87C is safe for Turing cards, like the 2060 you have.

yes that is normal under full load what are your idle temps? you should start worrying if the cpu and gpu go past like 85-90.

Not an OP but with that kind of budget it would be more benefitial to look at the used market.
You might find good monitors that are few years old for quiet cheap.

Yeah I did the windows color calibration and that asks you to adjust colors and contrast and so on. I also have overdrive set to medium.

It looks a lot better than the LG 24MB35, which is my old 60hz monitor. I watched a lot of reviews on the AOC model and it seems to live up to what they promised. Not like I have much else to compare it to, but I'm happy with my purchase. Motion clarity and colors are better, which for me were the main selling points, and my old monitor is my secondary now. I was using 1 monitor for a couple months since another one broke, so having 2 monitors again is great too.

RusselTheMuscle reacted to Flurry in 1080p, 144hz, 24", IPS Panel
Yes sorry, I was mistaken with a different model. The IPS model should suffice for your needs, however, if response time and input lag matters to you the most then a TN panel would be better. A tiny little sacrifice but it will hardly be noticeable.

RusselTheMuscle reacted to Flurry in 1080p, 144hz, 24", IPS Panel
I currently own the Viewsonic XG2405 as my primary monitor and I can tell you that the the input lag and response time is great for gaming! I also use this monitor for watching video's and coding, however, if you plan to do editing in the future then you will highly benefit from an IPS panel for more accurate colours. You must also realise that using an IPS panel will result in significantly worse response time and input lag as opposed to the Viewsonic's TN panel.

Personally I suggest buying the Viewsonic XG2405 due it's versatility and the activities you are planning to perform. Hope I helped.

    Get the AOC 24G2.
    It has great Reviews.
I have the 75hz model (because at the time i didnt know i can get 144hz for 20 bucks more).
The YouTuber "Hardware Unboxed" has a deep-dive Review on his channel.
There is no better Monitor in this Price range. Especially with an IPS panel like this one.
Most monitors in this price range are TN panels.
I can straight up recommend it.

3900x + stock cooler > 3800x with any cooler. It makes no sense to invest a lot of money on coolers if you dont get a fast cpu first.

RusselTheMuscle reacted to LogicalDrm in Noctua U12A vs D15
U12A would be the more future proof. Yes, D15 is one for more performance, but like said, its not better compatibility wise. Who knows, maybe you turn out like me and after 12 years on ATX want to go smaller size. And because of CPU cooler being too big, that really means full new system.

If you dont care about RAM clearance (dont use tall sticks or dont care if memory sticks arent shown), D15 is better.
