  1. Well uh I'm not sure what it is now... Something new, if I lock the frame rate to 60fps I can see these massive frame drops (that last a few seconds) every few seconds. Not sure what to make of it. Any advice?
  2. Hello all! Yesterday and previously I have posted various issues that I've been having with my PC. Today I believe I've identified exactly what the problem is. I noticed the problem while playing Battlefield 4. Basically, I was playing the game, there was a sudden massive frame drop (down to 40fps) and the game sound cut out for a few seconds (replaced by some crackling static). Is this a driver issue or an issue with hardware? Keep in mind my graphics card has been RMAd twice (the second time they gave me a new card) and my Power Supply has been RMAd once (gave me a new one first time). Any assistance would be appreciated. My Specs: CPU: Intel Core i5 4590 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 MOBO: ASRock H97M-Pro4 PSU: Corsair CX-750M
  3. Tried all of these things, when using synthetics I don't get the problem. There are frame drops in games and synthetics though.
  4. Hello all! Recently I've been posting issues that I've been experiencing on my PC. After three RMAs (Graphics Card 2x [second time I received a new card], Power Supply 1x [brand new PSU]) I am still encountering issues and am beginning to wonder whether this is a software problem. The Issue: When running games ranging from Terraria to Metro 2033: Last Light and Battlefield 4, I experience a much lower frame rate than is shown in the FPS counter. For example, when running Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, my frame rate is locked to 60 fps and 60 fps is shown in the frame counter (I have tried the Steam, Dxtory, and FRAPS FPS counters), however, I experience somewhere between 30 and 50 (this based off visual observation) most of the time (occasionally hitting 60). EDIT: I do have a 144hz monitor. Could that be the reason for my troubles if the game isn't hitting 144fps? Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. My System Specs: CPU: Intel Core i5 4590 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming MOBO: ASRock H97M-Pro4 PSU: Corsair CX-750M RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 MONITOR: AOC G2460P 144Hz OS: Windows 10 64 Bit
  5. Hello all. Earlier this year I posted some information about a problem I was experiencing on my PC (I highly recommend you read these posts to gain more info). I was experiencing low fps in games, frame drops, random black screen crashes, and random system restarts. Since then, I have RMAd both my power supply and my graphics card. My graphics card was RMAd twice, the first time I received a repaired card, and the second I received a brand new one. The replacement of these tow components didn't seem to fix the issue at all. Now, I experience the same bad framerate in some games, including Terraria and Arma 3, as well as frequent frame drops. However, I now also experience this pixelation effect on screen. This effect happens when I alt+tab between games and desktop as well as when I start games or change game rendering resolution. Could this effect and symptoms indicate a faulty component/s? In attempt to solve the problem I breadboarded, reseated the CPU/GPU/RAM etc. I also tested both RAM modules on their own. None of these techniques seemed to have an effect. Below you will find the best images I could capture of the effect on screen. My system specs: CPU: Intel Core i5 4590 RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB x2 DIMMs GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming PSU: Corsair CX-750M MOBO: ASRock H97M-Pro4 My operating system is Windows 10 64-bit and my BIOS is version 1.9 as per this table: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H97M%20Pro4/?cat=Download&os=BIOS
  6. Would love to try out the beta as I'm a huge SW Fan and want to trip up some walkers!
  7. I thought that there might be some way to fix the issue.
  8. No I have no other PCs to test with and yes, my warranty and receipt of purchase are still valid and in my possession.
  9. Hello all, Recently I noticed a problem to do with my GTX 970 G1 Gaming from Gigabyte. The card seems to only use 169mb of VRAM in all circumstances (benchmarking, gaming etc). As well, over the past few months (since early January; I purchased and built my PC in early December 2014) I have been experiencing frequent crashes with a black screen and sound loop. When these crashes have occurred, I am forced to first hold down the power button for a few seconds and then unplug and re-plug the 24pin connector on the motherboard to prevent me from receiving a black screen with no signal during startup. Also, in most "new-ish" games (i.e. GTA V, AC Unity etc.) there has been severe "frame-hitching or frame drops which occur every few seconds. This causes the game to become unplayable. These frame drops also occur in older titles (i.e. Batman Arkham City, AC IV) though they are less pronounced and the games remain in a playable state. There are also other minor nuissances involving the card. It uses only 50% TDP in all circumstances and never reaches more than 50% bus load. As well, the video engine remains at a constant 0% in all circumstances. Further, if the graphics driver crashes the card's core clock will become stuck at 540Mhz and I am forced to use DDU to uninstall drivers and reinstall to fix the low lock speed. Temperatures of the core never reach above 80 degrees Celsius and the card has an ASIC quality of 59.2%. I have attempted to fix the problem several times in the past through re-seating the card, uninstalling drivers and then reinstalling, overclocking/underclocking and so on; all to no avail. All sensor readings are taken from GPU-Z v0.8.3. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro with one partition. I have several other threads regarding the issues, however I wanted to create a thread that comprehensively documents everything that has caused trouble so far. Viewing those threads may provide more insight into the matter. Many people have suggested that my power supply is to blame though I have no reason to believe that is the case up to this point. Post Script: In early January I was forced to use a "second-hand" DVI cable from an unknown source. The cable worked though I occassionally experienced a black screen. My specifications are as follows: CPU: Intel Core i5 4590 MOBO: ASRock H97M-Pro4 RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Memory 2x8GB DIMMs each clocked @ 1600Mhz GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming PSU: Corsair CX-750M HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Yours sincerely, Tofite
  10. Made no difference whatsoever, thanks for trying though bud.
  11. I'll try that now and let you know if it made any difference.
  12. Temps are pretty normal for a card of this type; about 60-70 degrees Centigrade. Already reinstalled the drivers, installed old drivers to no avail.
  13. Today I was playing some H1Z1 and noticed that my core clock was at 540Mhz and was not changing. I was also experiencing a low framerate. The card I'm running (Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX970) has a base clock of 1375 Mhz. Is this something to do with drivers? Also, at one point while gaming, the screen turned black but then recovered. My specs are: Intel Core i5 4590 ASRock H97M-Pro4 Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 Corsair CX-750M 750Watts Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Also, if this any use to anyone, I have been observing some visual artefacting on destructible doors on the CS:GO map de_nuke.
